Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU/Pre-Op/Phase 2 position requiring 3 years of specialty experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details
  • Acute care teaching hospital, Level 3 trauma, 317 staffed beds
  • Work in PACU, Pre-Op, and Phase 2 Recovery across two locations within the same hospital system (main hospital and Day Surgery Center)
  • Patient ratio of 1:1
  • 3x12-hour day shifts, with start times ranging from 0530 to 2330
  • Weekend shifts as needed per unit needs
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating required between the main hospital and the Day Surgery Center, or to an affiliate hospital nearby
  • Uses Epic (Excellian) EMR
Requirements
  • Active MN RN license (in hand preferred, pending license accepted)
  • Minimum 3 years of PACU/Pre-Op/Phase 2 experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
  • Preferred certifications: NIHSS
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic/Excellian charting experience required
  • First-time travelers not accepted
  • 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Provide pre-operative, PACU, and Phase 2 recovery care for a variety of surgical populations including cardiac, neuro/spine, ortho, GI, GYN, vascular, and plastics cases
  • Skilled care may include airway management, ventilated patient care, arterial line management, chest tube management, and cardiac monitoring
  • Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility for consideration
  • Candidates must be gone at least 3 months from last shift worked as a perm (staff or per diem) employee to be eligible for return
  • RTO should ideally be no more than 5 days
  • Scrubs provided by the unit
