New Grad Machine Learning information

What is a new grad machine learning?

New Grad Machine Learning roles are entry-level positions designed for recent graduates who have studied machine learning, artificial intelligence, data science, or related fields. These positions typically involve working with experienced data scientists and engineers to develop, implement, and improve machine learning models and algorithms. New grads in these roles often contribute to projects involving data preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and deployment. The goal is to help new graduates gain hands-on experience and grow their skills in a real-world setting while contributing to the organization's AI initiatives.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a new grad machine learning?

To thrive as a New Grad Machine Learning Engineer, you need a solid foundation in mathematics, statistics, and programming (especially Python), typically supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch, version control systems like Git, and coursework or certification in data science are highly beneficial. Strong problem-solving abilities, curiosity, and effective communication skills help you collaborate and convey complex technical concepts to diverse teams. These skills and qualities are essential for developing innovative models, ensuring project success, and integrating seamlessly into fast-paced tech environments.

What challenges do new graduates face when starting out in a machine learning role, and how can they overcome them?

New grad machine learning engineers often encounter challenges such as bridging the gap between academic knowledge and practical, production-level projects. Adapting to real-world data issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and understanding scalable deployment can be daunting at first. To overcome these, it's helpful to seek mentorship, proactively ask questions, and dedicate time to learning best practices in code versioning, model evaluation, and team communication. Engaging in code reviews and participating in team discussions can also accelerate the learning curve and foster professional growth.

Job description

Occupational Therapist - New Grad

Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States

Your first year as a therapist is the year you get to start applying everything you have learned and building the clinician you want to be. Finding the right place to do it really matters!

At Woven Care, we are a pediatric outpatient practice dedicated to helping children and families thrive. We have built a new grad experience around what we know matters most: engaged support, meaningful mentorship, and a team that is invested in growing together.

What Your First Year Looks Like Here

This is the next step in your clinical journey, and you won't be doing it alone. From day one you'll be surrounded by a team of OTs, OTAs and cross-disciplinary colleagues who love what they do and are genuinely excited to learn and grow alongside you.

Onboarding is thoughtfully designed with dedicated supervision and mentorship woven in from the start, ramping your caseload and workload expectations gradually throughout your first month.

Day to day, you can expect 30-60 minute one-to-one sessions to foster strong client and caregiver relationships, two weekly patient evaluation to gain hands on assessment experience and built in documentation time so your evenings and weekends are yours to recharge. Teammates can expect to supervise and support 2+ COTAs and a 70% productivity expectation.

What You'll Get at Woven Care

A mentor and team that's here for YOU

Your clinic team is readily available and happy to support you in a way that is focused on your growth and where you are on your journey. From caseload questions to caregiver communication or documentation challenges, support is by your side. Plus, with our multidisciplinary model, you'll have opportunities to collaborate with Speech, PT, and ABA to learn from other perspectives and grow your network. You'll never feel alone at Woven Care!

Learning opportunities right from the start

We want to build a team of clinicians who never stop learning; that's why we've created a program that prioritizes professional growth and learning opportunities throughout your career. You'll have access to:

  • $250 CEU reimbursement, increasing up to $1,500 annually with tenure
  • Woven's Clinical Advancement Program, where eligible clinicians receive full funding for specialty certifications, including PTO, travel, and lodging

Compensation

New grads receive a salary compensation range of $78,000-82,000/year. Plus, we have an annual productivity bonus of up to $9,000/year.

Sign-on bonus

Up to $5,000. Whether you're moving from another area or just need some extra funds to start building up your materials, we want to help!

Benefits options

Medical, dental, vision, tenure-based PTO, and sick leave accruing 128 hours your first year, six guaranteed holidays, life and disability insurance, and 401(k) with match after 1 year!

What You'll Need
  • Master's degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy
  • NBCOT certification in good standing
  • Colorado DORA OT license, or ability to obtain
  • New grads are welcome!

At Woven Care, we work hard, care deeply, and we have a lot of fun doing it! We're building something we're proud of, and we want the people who start their careers here to be proud of it, too!

At Woven Care, we've intentionally built a culture that embraces challenges: we're driven by excellence while encouraging fun (we do work with kids, after all!). We offer real flexibility and manageable workloads for our team, while supporting our mission through collaboration and connection. We think this is what makes Woven Care such a special place to work and why such special people choose to work with us!
