Position Overview

The RN Manager of Labor and Delivery oversees the daily operations, staffing, and strategic planning of both the Labor & Delivery and Postpartum/Nursery (PNU) departments. This role is vital to ensuring the highest standards of patient care, compliance, and safety while fostering a supportive and collaborative environment for nursing staff.

As a visible and hands-on leader, youll work closely with hospital administration and multidisciplinary teams to maintain efficient operations, optimize patient outcomes, and uphold the hospitals mission of compassionate, quality healthcare.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Labor & Delivery and Postpartum units, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with all regulatory standards (State, TJC, CMS, AHCA, etc.).

  • Develop, organize, and evaluate departmental operations to align with organizational goals.

  • Maintain effective coordination of services, staffing, budgeting, and performance management.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and clinical excellence.

  • Promote staff development through mentorship, education, and performance evaluations.

  • Partner with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to improve patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes.


Qualifications
  • Current Florida RN License or Compact Licensure (meeting Florida Board requirements).

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.

  • Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery management experience required.

  • Certifications:

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire

    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire

    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 90 days of hire

    • STABLE Certification within 60 months of hire

    • Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring within 60 months of hire

  • FTEs: 27

  • Annual Births: ~1,500

  • Postpartum Beds: 20

  • Oversight Includes: Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn Nursery


Compensation & Schedule
  • Salary Range: $42.36 $52.96 $62.00/hr (based on years of experience)

  • Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift (No Weekends)
