GENERAL SUMMARY:
We are seeking a CQI Coordinator with strong analytical and quality improvement skills to support performance improvement initiatives, patient outcomes work, and health equity efforts. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can analyze and interpret data, identify trends and opportunities for improvement, collaborate across teams and committees, and help manage pilot and quality improvement projects from development through implementation.
- Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) sponsored Collaborative Quality Initiatives (CQIs) are statewide quality improvement programs whose goals are to improve quality, safety, and clinical outcomes for healthcare procedures and medical conditions across the state of Michigan (https://www.valuepartnerships.com/programs/collaborative-quality-initiatives/).
- Henry Ford Health is home to the Coordinating Centers for 2 of the 18 current CQIs.
- The CQI Program Coordinator will be responsible to build new relationships and maintain existing relationships with Ambulatory Surgery Centers across the state.
- In addition to providing leadership and professional expertise for participating sites, the CQI Program Coordinator will oversee the recruitment, on-boarding, contracts and QI initiatives at these Ambulatory Surgery Centers.
- The CQI Program Coordinator will collaborate with CQI Coordinating Center Program Managers (including those led by both Henry Ford Health and Michigan Medicine), the BCBSM Value Partnerships Team, and CQI participating sites across the state. The CQI Program Coordinator reports directly to the CQI Program Manager.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Experience with healthcare data analysis and identifying trends/opportunities for quality improvement
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Experience with committee participation or cross-functional team collaboration
- Knowledge of quality improvement principles and performance improvement processes
- Experience supporting or managing projects/pilot initiatives
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Science, Public Health, Health Administration, Nursing, Allied Health or related field required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Five (5) years of health care experience required, including experience working with the BCBSM sponsored CQI program and CQI related contracts.
- Two (2) years of project management and/or process improvement experience preferred.
- Knowledge of health care delivery including patient flow (inpatient, procedural, ambulatory care), health care operations and payment models.
- Demonstrated performance improvement success.
- Experience with new program/initiative development, implementation and evaluation.
- Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Care Plus, electronic mail and Internet navigation software.
- Ability to problem solve independently and work with minimal direction.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work with senior leaders and large teams with diverse members.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts.
- Ability to adapt, respond and prioritize in a rapidly changing health care environment and ability to successfully manage multiple competing demands.
- Ability to act as a change agent, providing direction to others and gaining their support.
- Basic understanding of the research process and statistical analysis.
