Job description

About this role:

This Advanced Practice Provider (APP; physician assistant or nurse practitioner) will be a member of the neurosciences team at Intermountain Medical Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and level I Trauma Center in Murray Utah. The APP assists neurosurgeons in the care of patients hospitalized with a variety of neurosurgical conditions, including traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, tumors, etc.

After being oriented to all aspects of neurosurgery and spine, the APP provides care in inpatient, outpatient, neurosurgical trauma, and neurocritical care settings. The APP's primary responsibility will be inpatient care of neurosurgery patients, though they will also consult on patients in the ER, as well as new consults in the hospital, first assist with emergent surgeries, round with the Neurosurgery Care Coordination team, and be a resource to hospital nursing staff. In addition, this APP may answer call pages that come through from the floor, ER, clinic and the answering service.

In this role you can anticipate:

  • Practicing at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah
  • Inpatient care of neurosurgery patients, consulting on patients in the ER and hospital, first assist with emergent surgeries, inpatient rounding, etc.
  • 24/7 coverage, including: days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Varying 8-12 hour shifts

An ideal candidate will have prior neurosurgery, neuro critical care, ICU, or hospitalist experience.

What youll bring:

  • APRN or PA-C degree from an accredited program
  • Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one
  • BLS certification and DEA
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Healths credentialing process
