| Common Search & Comparison Intent | Understanding scientific basis of brain functions | Assessing and treating cognitive deficits |
Neuroscience focuses on understanding the biological and physiological aspects of the nervous system through research and experimentation. Neuropsychology, on the other hand, applies this knowledge to assess and treat cognitive and behavioral issues resulting from brain injuries or neurological conditions. While both fields study the brain, neuroscience is more research-oriented, whereas neuropsychology is clinically focused.

Provide high-impact, specialized care to patients navigating some of the most complex neurologic conditions in an environment built on clinical excellence, teamwork, and continuous growth. On 6 West, every shift is an opportunity to directly influence recovery trajectories while supporting patients and families through critical moments in care.
This role places you in a 30-bed adult acute care Neuroscience unit where clinical skill, attention to detail, and collaboration come together to deliver meaningful outcomes. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team across neurology, stroke, neurosurgery, and neuro-trauma, contributing to a coordinated approach that supports patients from diagnosis through recovery.
On a typical shift, you will:

- Monitor for changes in neurologic status and respond with timely clinical interventions and escalation when needed
- Support patients and families through both recovery and end-of-life care, delivering compassionate, patient-centered communication
- Contribute to a unit culture focused on teamwork, shared accountability, and clinical excellence
This is a role that blends clinical complexity with human connection, offering the chance to care for patients across a broad spectrum of neurologic conditions while working in a highly collaborative setting.
