Unit Highlights
Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit
MedStar Georgetown University Hospital is a Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center and this adult 24-bed unit is one of the few dedicated Neurosciences ICUs in Washington, DC. Clinical Nurses on this team provide expert care for critically ill patients who have suffered stroke (hemorrhagic/ischemic), subarachnoid hemorrhage, subdural hematoma, complex spine and brain surgeries. Other common neurological diagnoses include meningitis, Guillain Barre syndrome and viral, infectious, or autoimmune processes. This department has been awarded both the Beacon Award for Nursing Excellence and the Nurse-Family Collaboration Award by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN).
Key Responsibilities
As a Clinical Nurse you will deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex. You will identify current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations and critically analyzes trends and changes in patient status and plans appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses.

Qualifications
• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Minimum of two years of critical care experience preferred.
