Job Summary
As a Veterinary Rehabilitation Therapist, you will play a dynamic and vital role in the comprehensive patient care experience, customizing each treatment plan under the guidance and oversight of a skilled veterinarian. Your responsibilities encompass the autonomous execution of prescribed therapy plans, closely collaborating with our Rehabilitation Veterinarian. Additionally, you will actively engage in client education, ensuring that pet owners are well-informed about their furry companions' rehabilitation journeys. You will excel in performing diligent follow-ups with clients, and providing guidance and support in implementing home exercise plans following initial assessments and rechecks.
Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
  • Promotes a client-centered environment and facilitates programs and processes that meet client needs.
  • Ability for excellent client communication and education regarding treatment plans, at-home therapy options, products, and assistive devices.

Clinical
  • Provide rehabilitative care to animals that have had surgery, been injured, or suffer from chronic conditions or pain.
  • Proficient in observing and assessing the physical condition, appearance, and behavioral cues of animals, including the ability to identify general signs of illness, disease, and emotional states such as fear, anxiety, and stress (FAS).
  • Consistently and accurately obtain and record patient histories that are thorough and accurate.
  • Create and implement therapy plans to increase mobility and minimize pain.
  • In coordination with DVMs, adjust the treatment plan to ensure that progress is being made in each session.
  • Able to set up and perform various treatment modalities including underwater treadmill, laser therapy, therapeutic ultrasound, neuromuscular electrical stimulation, massage, thermal therapies, therapeutic exercises, etc.
  • Document and send owners home exercise plans as prescribed by the DVM.
  • Assist with filling medications prescribed by the DVM.
  • Ability to maintain medical records to track patients' progress and document specific therapies utilized.
  • Take proper safety measures to minimize the chance of injury to yourself, your patient, or other team members.
  • Maintain independent daily patient therapy schedule.
  • Assist DVM with client education, communication of home exercise programs, and post-exam/recheck client questions.

Finance and Accounting
  • Invoices for services provided using the Practice Management Systems (PMS).

Facility Operations
  • Prepare rooms for patients and clients.
  • Identify and report risks & issues to the Managing Veterinarian and/or VROMP Management as deemed necessary.
  • Adhere to Inventory processes.
  • Administer general maintenance and cleanliness of therapy equipment.
  • Maintains a facility visually appealing to clients and staff.

Other
  • Takes an active role in practice staff meetings.
  • Promotes cooperative working environment among staff members; understands the value of teamwork; shows enthusiasm and willingness to perform as necessary to help the practice function as a unit.
  • Shows an interest in advancing skill sets and participating in educational opportunities.
  • Understands and carries out oral and written directions.
  • Maintains positive, cooperative relationships with other employees.
  • Assists with training and ongoing development of other clinical and support team as necessary in collaboration with practice leadership.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Licensed or Certified Veterinary Technician or Assistant preferred but not required.
  • One of the following preferred: CCRP, CCRA, CCRVN, VMRT, CRPM, or Canine Certified
  • Physical Therapist (CCRT)
  • Licensed or Certified Veterinary Technician or Assistant preferred but not required.
  • One of the following preferred: CCRP, CCRA, CCRVN, VMRT, CRPM, or Canine Certified Physical Therapist (CCRT)
  • Those working towards any of the above certifications will also be considered.

Compensation: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
