About the Family & Social Services Administration (FSSA):
The Division of Mental Health and Addiction within the Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) sets care standards for the provision of mental health and addiction services to Hoosiers. DMHA is committed to ensuring that clients have access to quality services that promote individual, family and community resiliency and recovery.
The division also certifies all community mental health centers and addiction treatment services providers. DMHA operates six psychiatric hospitals (NeuroDiagnostic Institute, Evansville Psychiatric Children's Center, Evansville State Hospital, Logansport State Hospital, Madison State Hospital and Richmond State Hospital). DMHA provides funding support for mental health and addiction services to target populations with financial need and administers federal funds earmarked for substance abuse prevention projects.
Role Overview:
This role performs all administrative tasks as requested by executive staff. Your role is responsible for high level support for the day-to-day administrative operations for three executive directors including but not limited to: scheduling appointments and meetings, preparing agendas, recording/finalizing/distributing minutes/notes for meetings, arranging conference calls and rooms, filing, researching information, coordinating and preparing various reports and matters requested in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate is an independent thinker, driven, and will take a proactive approach when managing workload and considering the big picture. They will be collaborative and anticipate the needs of assigned executive staff. Tis candidate will operate with a high level of confidentiality.
Salary:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $37,648.00 but may be commensurate with education and work experience. Use our Compensation Calculator to view the total compensation package.
A Day in the Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
  • Provides advanced administrative support to an agency, department, or facility.
  • Reviews the organizational structure and functions of assigned program area to recommend changes to promote effectiveness.
  • Administers staff functions in support of program area.
  • Aids program administrator in applying agency or department policies and procedures.
  • Represents program administrator in meetings with representative of other agencies, and interested public to explain and interpret program goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepares, evaluates, and maintains administrative reports, policies, and procedures for different program areas

What You'll Need for Success:

  • Ability to establish cooperative work relationships.
  • Ability to analyze, update and write procedures and policies.

A degree is not required. However, at least 5+ years of experience applying the outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role may be considered.

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
