Job Summary:
Abode TechZone, LLC is seeking a GCP VMware Cloud Networking and Security Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and managing secure networking services in the cloud. The engineer will collaborate with development teams to ensure proper configuration and security of GCP resources while adhering to industry best practices.
Responsibilities:
• GCP Networking Services: Configure and manage GCP networking services, including VPCs, subnets, firewalls, and load balancers, to ensure secure and efficient communication between resources.
• Security Best Practices: Implement security best practices for GCE instances and GKE clusters, including IAM roles, service accounts, network policies, and firewall rules, to prevent unauthorized access and ensure data integrity.
• VMware and Virtualization: Leverage experience with VMware and virtualization technologies to design and implement secure and efficient virtualized environments for GCP resources.
• Network Architecture: Design and implement scalable and secure network architectures for GCP resources, including routing, switching, and load balancing.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor and troubleshoot GCP network and security issues, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal downtime.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and security, to ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Staying Current: Stay up-to-date with the latest GCP security and networking features, enhancements, and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve our cloud infrastructure.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Significant experience with GCP networking services, including VPCs, subnets, firewalls, and load balancers, with a strong focus on security.
• Proven experience with VMware infrastructure, including ESXi, vCenter, and vSphere, with a focus on virtualization and security.
• Expertise in cloud security, including IAM roles, service accounts, network policies, and firewall rules.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including routing, switching, and load balancing.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex GCP network and security issues, with a focus on prompt resolution and minimal downtime.
• Minimum of 10 years in IT, with at least 5 years in cloud networking and security, preferably in the GCP ecosystem, with experience in VMware and virtualization technologies.
• Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
• Proficient in networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and HTTP.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
Preferred:
• Relevant GCP certifications, such as Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Developer or Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect, and VMware certifications, such as VCP or VCIX.
• Experience with GCP security best practices, including IAM roles, service accounts, network policies, and firewall rules.
• Experience with cloud migration, including migration planning, execution, and testing.
