Job description

IT Manager
Transdev is seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Manager to join our team and ensure the seamless operation of all information technology and communications systems. In this critical role, you will be responsible for providing desktop support, maintaining key software systems, and collaborating with various stakeholders to keep operations running smoothly. This position is based in North Las Vegas, Nevada

Key Responsibilities:
The Information Technology Manager is responsible for handling various technology issues related to a transit environment and supporting corporate infrastructure. Responsible for overseeing Transit software direction and providing comprehensive IT support, including desktop, server, and network services in line with SLAs. An employee in a position allocated to this class must be able to exercise a high degree of independent judgment. The employee receives guidance and general direction but is expected to independently develop and administer the projects and programs assigned.
Manages local servers, supports transit technologies such as MDTs and Trapeze, and maintains voice/data systems including VOIP and T-1 lines.
Leads IT projects, coordinates with client IT teams and vendors, and provides technical reporting to local divisional offices.
Develop strategic IT plans focused on cost control, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation. Ensures documentation standards are met and maintained across all IT operations and platforms
  • Responsible for providing different software direction, desktop, server, and network support for client operations according to Service Level Agreements (SLA). This includes, but is not limited to, desktop and server repair, network maintenance, helpdesk tickets, disaster recovery, and other projects as assigned.
  • Support of analog, Digital, or VOIP telephone systems, T-1, fax, and DSL lines.
  • Responsible for supporting local technologies related to transit operations, such as Mobile Data Terminals (MDT)/in-vehicle tablets, and Transit reservation software platforms.
  • Manage servers at local division; domain controller, file, application, and database (MS SQL SVR).
  • Meet and interact with client agencies, providing reports and updates for the local divisional office.
  • Close interaction with the client's IT department.
  • Managing complex IT projects, IT employees, and outside vendors.
  • Developing strategic operations and investment plans that weigh costs, benefits, opportunities, and risks of various IT investment approaches.
  • Controlling and minimizing costs.
  • Manage Information Board, Information software for employee time management and general transit supportive activities.

Qualifications:
Highly proficient in Trapeze transit software, with strong technical expertise in Active Directory, MS SQL Server, and network infrastructure. Skilled in supporting Windows 7, 10, Server 2012/2016, and Microsoft Office applications, as well as managing Cisco switches, routers, and backup/disaster recovery systems. Experienced in desktop, server, and network management tools, with a solid understanding of cloud computing, server virtualization, and core IT frameworks. Recognized for excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in complex IT environments. Highly proficient with Trapeze transit software is a MUST.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred, or 5+ years of progressive experience in IT support, applications implementation, and training.
  • Proficiency with Active Directory, relational databases (MS SQL Server preferred), and networking.
  • Proficient with the company's major IT systems, services, and technology frameworks (e.g., cloud computing, server virtualization, application delivery controller, etc.).
  • Thorough understanding of computers, servers, networks, printers, and peripheral hardware.
  • Experience supporting Windows 7, 10, Server 2012 & 16, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with desktop, server, and network management tools.
  • Experience with Cisco switches and routers.
  • Familiar with backup and disaster recovery.

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
  • The work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.
