Position Summary:

The Senior Network Engineer will develop, implement, and support network services and solutions for consulting clients. This position will build a customer-focused relationship with clients to identify business challenges and develop specifications and requirements to arrive at the best solution.


Roles and Responsibilities/ Essential Functions:

  • Work as a member of the HBS Network team as a leader and contributor that provides consultative and proactive project support to HBS’s account base.
  • Collaborate and be a leader across multiple internal teams to ensure successful delivery and timely of the scope of work.
  • Research new products for selection, enhance configuration standards and best practices and educate team members on these products and services to enhance the sales process.
  • Provide senior level support, maintenance, and administration for customer networks and review for other potential concerns or enhancement opportunities.
  • Work in and always model a positive team atmosphere between regional and virtual practices while maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of past projects to potentially provide time estimates and project scopes for new related projects.
  • Create and maintain current vendor/industry specific certifications and stay current on new products and solutions by utilizing networks of resources.
  • Meet annual billable hour goal, as defined by HBS. This number may change over time as the business evolves.

Required Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise networks in a technical, client-facing or consulting role.
  • Experience with installing and supporting Cisco or HP/Aruba networks, including IOS, IOS-XR, NX-OS, and core protocols like OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, Layer 2/3, Multicast, and QoS.

Preferred Experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a technical related field
  • 3+ years’ experience working as a consultant
  • Experience configuring Next Generation Firewalls, designing enterprise level network environments.


Required Skills, Education and/ or Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Networking, Information Technology, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • One or more of the following certifications: CCNP, CCA-C, VCA-DV, MCA or equivalent level certifications


Preferred Skills, Education and/ or Certifications:

  • Cisco Nexus technologies such as VDC, vPC, VXLAN, etc.
  • Cisco based ISR-based VPN solutions such as FLEX-VPN, GET-VPN, or DMVPN.
  • Data Center / Core design, configuration, and implementation utilizing Cisco Nexus Architecture (9K, 7K, 6K, 5K, 3K, 2K, 1000V).
  • Software Defined Networking (SDA, SD-WAN)
  • Cisco/Meraki/Aruba Wireless such as Controller or autonomous based, Design using Ekahau or similar product and High Density/Manufacturing/Office/Education
  • Familiarity or experience with Meraki (Wireless, Security Products, Switches, SDWAN), Citrix NetScaler ADC/SDWAN deployment a plus, Network security appliances Including Cisco ASA/FTD, Palo Alto firewalls, Fortinet firewalls and related technology, and additional core technologies such as: Riverbed, OpenDNS, Infoblox, Cisco Optical, NetBrain, FireEye, SolarWinds, SPLUNK?
