What is a networking associate?

Networking Associates are entry- to mid-level professionals responsible for supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer networks within an organization. They assist in configuring network hardware, monitoring network performance, and providing technical support to end users. Networking Associates often work with routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking devices to ensure smooth and secure communication across the organization's systems. Their role is vital in maintaining uptime and resolving connectivity issues promptly.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a networking associate?

To thrive as a Networking Associate, you need a solid understanding of networking fundamentals, such as TCP/IP, routing, and switching, often supported by a bachelor’s degree in IT or related fields. Familiarity with network hardware, Cisco or Juniper devices, and certifications like CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA are typically required. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication help you troubleshoot issues and support users efficiently. These skills and qualifications are crucial for maintaining secure, reliable network operations and enabling smooth business connectivity.

About Us
CertaPro Painters® has served the Greater Vancouver market for the last 32 years, delivering high-quality residential and commercial painting services. With a strong North American presence, we are committed to professionalism, quality, and customer satisfaction.
We are the largest residential and commercial painting franchise in North America and have been in business since 1992. Our local team is made up of dedicated professionals who help clients beautify their homes and buildings with certainty.
Role Overview
As a Commercial Sales Associate (CSA), you will help CertaPro Painters grow our commercial pipeline by prospecting and building relationships with property and strata managers, facility/maintenance managers, and commercial realty partners. Your primary goal is to secure qualified coffee meetings and site visits for our estimating/management team by introducing our services, identifying opportunities, and following up consistently. You’ll be supported with structured training, messaging, and office coordination—so you can focus on outreach, relationship-building, and generating qualified leads.
Key Responsibilities
  • Complete training on CertaPro systems, messaging, target accounts, and weekly activity expectations
  • Prospect commercial opportunities through in-person visits, phone, email, LinkedIn, and local networking
  • Build relationships with property/strata managers, facility & maintenance managers, commercial realtors, and other commercial decision-makers
  • Book qualified coffee meetings and site walkthroughs for the estimating/management team
  • Qualify and document opportunities by capturing key details (site location, scope, surfaces/areas, timelines, access constraints, decision process, budget expectations where appropriate)
  • Maintain consistent follow-up to move prospects from introduction → meeting → walkthrough → proposal
  • Coordinate with office/estimating to schedule walkthroughs and ensure clean handoff notes for proposal preparation
  • Track outreach and pipeline activity in the CRM and provide weekly updates (new contacts, meetings booked/held, opportunities created, next steps)
  • Represent CertaPro professionally at assigned networking or partner events
 What We Offer
  • Base salary plus performance-based incentives tied to clear KPIs and results (e.g., outreach activity, qualified meetings booked/held, and qualified opportunities created)
  • Vehicle support (company vehicle or car/fuel allowance, as applicable)
  • Mobile phone and tablet (or allowance)
  • Company uniform and branded materials
  • CRM access and reporting tools provided to track outreach, follow-ups, and pipeline
  • Contact lists and target accounts provided, with expectations to also build your own prospect list through research and outreach
  • Structured onboarding and ongoing support (no painting experience required)
  • Regular training and role-play coaching for outreach, messaging, and objection handling
  • Clear growth path into expanded commercial sales responsibilities
 Requirements
  • Fluent in English with strong communication and organization skills
  • Minimum 2+ years of overall work experience (any field), or equivalent maturity and professionalism
  • At least 1 year of B2B sales, outbound prospecting, business development, appointment setting, or customer-facing experience (Canada experience not mandatory)
  • Comfortable meeting commercial contacts (property managers, realtors, strata/facility teams, local business owners) with professionalism and patience
  • Self-motivated and consistent with outreach, follow-ups, and relationship-building
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally for meetings
  • Eagerness to learn — painting industry experience not required; full training and support provided
  • Selection process: Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a Caliper assessment and a final interview stage
