Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Network Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our enterprise network infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of LAN, WAN, wireless, and cloud-connected environments.

The ideal candidate will balance hands-on network engineering, end-user support, and infrastructure security, while collaborating with internal IT teams and external partners to align technology with business objectives. This position will also act as a key escalation point for both network and desktop-related issues.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, administer, and support enterprise network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain switching, routing, and firewall environments (Layer 2/Layer 3)
  • Manage network segmentation (VLANs), trunking, STP, and routing protocols (e.g., static, OSPF preferred)
  • Administer and monitor firewalls, security policies, VPN tunnels, and network access controls
  • Perform network performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting of latency, packet loss, and outages
  • Utilize monitoring and alerting tools to proactively identify issues (e.g., SNMP, NetFlow, syslog, or similar)
  • Maintain accurate network diagrams, documentation, and standard operating procedures
  • Ensure adherence to security best practices, patching, and compliance standards
  • Support cloud-integrated networking environments (Azure, AWS, or hybrid connectivity is a plus)
  • Act as primary escalation for network-related incidents and outages, including after-hours support when needed
  • Provide Tier 1–2 desktop and end-user support (Windows environment, devices, connectivity issues)
  • Collaborate on IT projects including network upgrades, migrations, and site expansions


Required Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • 3–5+ years of experience in a Network Administrator or Network Engineer role
  • Strong experience with:
    • Routing & Switching (Layer 2/Layer 3 concepts)
    • VLANs, trunking, STP, and network segmentation
    • TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and VPN technologies
  • Hands-on experience configuring and managing:
    • Firewalls (policy management, NAT, VPNs)
    • Managed switches and wireless infrastructure
  • Experience with Windows Server environments and Active Directory
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across network, connectivity, and performance issues
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and documentation discipline
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when needed
  • Commitment to security, uptime, and operational excellence


Preferred Qualifications and Competencies

  • Experience with:
    • SonicWall, Ubiquiti (UniFi), or similar network platforms

Expected Working Hours

This is a full-time position, and basic hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5pm


Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.


Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, walk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. This position requires the ability to walk the entire facility/plant.
