Job Description
AUI is currently seeking a Junior Sales Representative to grow sales and customer base in the Nashville, Tennessee area. The Junior Sales Representative serves as an AUI Resource to our clients and industry. Knowledgeable about the product assortment, brands and all services offered by AUI.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Develop sales and account management strategies per customer and product groupings. Develop efficient sales routes and call schedules to cover the territory. Build name recognition for Company and self.
  • Reach or exceed all sales goals as directed by Sales Management. Build and maintain strong relationships with accounts within the assigned territory. Maintain present business and help with customer service troubleshooting and resolution. Take responsibility for all transactions within assigned territory. Implement sales and account management strategies and tactics as directed by Sales Management.
  • Network within the industry. Set up pastry groups within the territory or actively belongs to a chef's organization in the territory.
  • Build product and market competence; acquires technical knowledge of products and their applications.
  • Perform special marketing functions as requested by management, such as demos and presentations. Implement all promotions and sales contests. Participate in all Sales Training and Sales Workshops as directed by Sales Management.
  • Keep accurate call reports on all facets of the job, sending to RSM as requested.
  • Send Sample Push Reports as requested to Marketing and Sales management.
  • Participate in regular telephone meetings and ad hoc voice and email conversations with RSM and other Sales leadership.
  • Maintain files by month. Sales manager reviews files during yearly audit.
  • Conduct periodic territory analyses, including but not limited to:
  • These functions are in large measure conducted during routine sales calls and communicated to management weekly.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing/sales, food degree or equivalent and sales certification and/or three years sales experience (or ten plus years foodservice experience).
  • Experience in and knowledge of food service or hospitality industry, relationship-based sales, culinary experience, customer service. General computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the telephone and in writing to diverse groups, extremely social; Must be willing to work on the road independently in all types of weather, to lead or participate in special functions, marketing events, shows, demos and networking events in the evenings.
  • 60% local travel in territory required.
