This position will be located onsite in Seattle, Washington.

Job Overview
Provide all aspects of IT support for Scientific Research Vessel USCGC Healy. Work both underway and on shore. Underway deployments are between 2 and 8 weeks. Onshore work includes an on-call rotation. Customer base includes research scientists, technicians, outreach personnel, and military personnel. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills and the ability to provide positive user support at a wide range of skill levels and interests.

• Create and maintain PKI infrastructure
• Provide helpdesk support to embarked scientists and crew members
• Ship-to-shore communications (Satellite Systems)
• Underway maintenance and support on board USCGC Healy
• Information Assurance to Federal Government (DISA) standard
• Firewall, router, and switch configuration and maintenance
• Other tasking as directed.

Job Requirements
Mandatory:
• Associates Degree from an accredited Community or Technical College in Computer Science or related field, or three years System Administrator experience
• Ability to receive and maintain SECRET Security Clearance
• U.S. Citizenship
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.
Preferred:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, or Network Engineering, or four years System Administrator experience
• Additional experience or training in one or more leading operating systems, network equipment, and network protocols
• User support experience
• Following certifications: CCNA, CompTIA Security+, RHCSA/RHCE
Working Conditions:
• Moderate noise levels
• Occasional evening or weekend work
• On call as needed
• Must be able to work underway at sea for 35 days or more at a time
• Sit or stand for several hours
• Lift items up to 50 pounds
• Climb ladders and stairs
