Job description

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
• Plans and Implements the LAN and WAN infrastructure in the Americas and provides advanced regional support for LAN, WLAN and WAN technologies (Ethernet, Frame Relay, routing and switching, VLANs, Fiber channel, Sonnet, Voice and Data convergence, video technologies etc).
• Ensures that all systems comply with industry and standards.
• Develops and aligns Network Community strategies, and interfaces with internal and external business partners (subsidiaries, plants, suppliers).
• Provides high-level analysis, evaluation and support of existing and new networking and telecommunication systems and products, while striving for efficient and innovative solutions.
• Project manager for complex network and telecommunication infrastructure installations. Responsible for delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Single point of contact to external network carriers and providers.
• Analyzes management tools for configuration, documentation and monitoring of network systems in the Americas region.
• Provide and maintains documentation for all installed solutions for network infrastructure within the Americas.
Required Education/Experience:
• BA/BS in Information Technology OR equivalent of 4 years of related experience in Information and Networking Technology.
• 7+ years of professional experience in Information Technology (including 2 years of supervisory experience related to the project management and implementation of local and wide area networks).
Licenses and/or Certifications:
• Cisco Certified Network Professional required.
Responsibilities:
The role involves managing general technical responsibilities, including overseeing the Network Health Automation Center on a monthly basis. You will be responsible for Invest planning and submission, as well as finalizing Invest and steering approval submissions. Budget-related tasks include planning and coordinating End-of-Life (EoL) activities and budgets for US and Canada in collaboration with the Local Network Service (LNS).
Operational duties require participation in biweekly Global Network Services (GNS) and Local Network Service (LNS) contracting team synchronization meetings and weekly operational review meetings for Global Network Services regions and the US Local Network Service. You will also handle LFS regional topics for the US, Canada, and the South America region. Monthly Global Network Services bad ticket reviews are also part of the responsibilities.
In controlling, the position includes conducting yearly investment audits and processes with Manufacturing Corporation Invest and Region US Invest controlling teams. You will also manage Invest documentation with serial number entries and follow up on purchasing and controlling activities. Will be responsible for budget and invest creation of purchase orders, good receipts, ACFs etc.
Contracting responsibilities encompass coordinating the Contracting Team Center, managing all international contract updates related to Global Network Services and hardware, and synchronizing with the Hardware Contracting Team and Purchasing teams in region Americas for adaptations. Handling any contractual clarifications, including tenders between Purchasing and the central team, is also required.
General tasks involve ownership of the Problem, Incident, Change Connectivity Service Group, creating knowledge base articles for incidents and operational topics, conducting ITSM ticket audits, and managing various operational topics as they arise.
