Network Architect

The Opportunity:

Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That's why we need a network engineer like you who knows how to develop the exact network the client needs.As a Network Architect on our team, you'll use your skills in network design and architecture, system interoperability, OSI model, and network transport layers to help support the nation's defense and respond to evolving adversaries. You'll troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, analyze current working infrastructures, and increase security, reliability, and availability for critical network systems.

You'll apply your knowledge in routing and switching, integration of encryption gear, network design and architecture, system interoperability, IP engineering, and network transport layers as you join our team of problem-solvers to help the client evolve and deploy new capabilities and technologies. Your knowledge of network protocols, equipment, emerging technology, and configurations will come in handy as you help optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience in cryptography, key management, software, and hardware firewalls, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. Using your technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you'll make an impact on national security-related missions.

You Have:

  • 6+ years of experience as a network or data center systems engineer

  • 3+ years of experience in network architecture

  • Experience in network design, protocols, and infrastructure, and with IPv4, IPv6, QoS, MPLS, or BGP

  • Knowledge of network topology diagrams and modifying, as needed, using network diagraming software, such as MS Visio

  • Knowledge of STIG network device security compliance, security hardening requirements, and secure device access control login methods

  • Knowledge of network security principles and practices, including Crypto, COMSEC, ViPER, or VOIP, to install and configure network devices

  • Ability to develop network architecture to support worldwide encrypted communications and model out bandwidth, data flows, and define data mission threads in MBSE

  • Top Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Network+, Security+, CISSP, CCNA, or CCNP Certification

Nice If You Have:

  • 2+ years of experience with missile warning systems or ground-based systems

  • Experience with enterprise network management tools to monitor network performance status, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection or prevention systems

  • Experience with leadership

  • Experience with Unix, Linux, RedHat, and RHEL version 6 or above

  • Knowledge of basic data cryptographic techniques and government-classified networks

  • Ability to design scalable and resilient network architectures in on-prem or cloud architectures

  • Possession of excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • TS/SCI clearance

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
