Job Description & Responsibilities

Persistent Systems is seeking a Network Engineer who is a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or has equivalent training/experience.  As a Network Engineer, you'll be a critical member of the Persistent Systems technical team and will work closely with forward support and technical team members to solve our customer's most difficult mobile ad hoc networking (MANET) problems.  You will serve as a technical lead and subject-matter expert in the support of Persistent Systems' Cloud Relay communications solution and will interact directly with our customers to help setup, maintain, and troubleshoot the implementation of Cloud Relay into their larger networks. You'll also be responsible for communicating technical challenges to our engineering department as you strive to solve problems. 

Position Responsibilities 

  • Implement and support network solutions utilizing Wave Relay and Cloud Relay technologies, to include industry standard protocols such as Ethernet, MACsec, IPsec, VPN, EIGRP, OSPF, PIM, and IGMP 
  • Support and facilitate the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and monitoring of network and communications equipment including, but not limited to, the Wave Relay and Cloud Relay suite of products and third-party switches, routers, and UPS systems. 
  • Design solutions to meet customer requirements, including RF antenna solutions, physical interfaces, and custom installations of Cloud Relay 
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex networking systems 
  • Support requests for information (RFI) and requests for proposal (RFP) technical solutions and responses  
  • Resolve requests for Cloud Relay technical support through company Technical Support system. 
  • Develop long-term customer relationships with project clients through managing and interpreting requirements, providing training, and technical support/assistance for the project and program clients 
  • Support the Business Development group to develop Network solutions to prospective customers' technical requirements using Wave Relay and Cloud Relay, CoTS, or other cloud-based technologies 
Job Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification,or similar certification or experience 
  • Experience with Cloud-based networking deployment such as AWS or Microsoft Azure 
  • Must have CompTIA Security+ 
  • 3 years of experience as a Network Engineer 
  • Understanding of hardware and software concepts, and networking concepts such as IP routing and switching and VPN architectures, and OSI model layers 1-3 
  • Experience with traffic shaping, priority queuing, Class of Service (CoS), and routing/switching 
  • Must be available to travel at least 25% of the time 
  • Must have the ability to obtain a United States Security Clearance 
  • Must be proficient in the use of troubleshooting applications such as Wireshark and iPerf 
  • Must be experienced with Information Assurance and Vulnerability alerts (CVEs) and application of patches into network systems 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certification 
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree inComputer Science, Network Engineering, or Information Systems
  • Certifications in Cyber Security such as CASP or CISSP 
  • Linux+ Certification 
  • AWS Solutions Architect Certification 
  • Experience with MANET or Wave Relay technologies 
  • Experience with Firewall and DMZ Implementation  
  • Experience with IP Schemes and networking configuration management  

Total compensation for this role can vary from $116,000 to $131,000 a year based on individual qualifications. Eligibility for yearly discretionary bonus.
