Job Summary:
Howard Community College (HCC) is an innovative institution committed to meeting the needs of a diverse community. They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Security Engineer to join their IT team, responsible for designing, implementing, and managing network security infrastructure to protect systems and data from security threats.
Responsibilities:
• Design and implement secure network solutions to protect the organization’s network infrastructure.
• Configure and manage security devices such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and VPNs.
• Monitor network traffic for suspicious activities and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
• Conduct forensic analysis of network security incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify security weaknesses.
• Implement security patches and updates to mitigate identified vulnerabilities.
• Develop, implement, and enforce network security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with other IT and security teams to ensure a cohesive security strategy.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on network security best practices.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
