ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for assisting with the direction, scoping, estimation, budgeting, coordination, standardization, and execution of networking projects in support of the system and its member organizations, with an ongoing focus on stewardship of the system's resources.
  • Responsible for monitoring and analysis of the system's networks, with a focus on the protection and performance of the system's communications and network assets, and for reporting the results of that monitoring to the Director of Network Operations.
  • Responsible for the direct administration, configuration, and optimization of core switches, edge routers, and Cisco ASA(v) Firewalls.
  • Responsible for the final delivery, accountability, and comprehensive documentation of network engineering project deployments.
  • Participate in migrating legacy core networking, switching, and point-to-point IPsec tunnels to Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Responsible for global WAN/LAN IP address allocation.
  • Provides advanced technical support and functions as a mentor to lower-level analysts, willing to assist and/or train other team members when assistance is needed.
  • Where necessary, participate in an after-hours emergency support.
  • Responsible for an ongoing pursuit of knowledge, necessary to improve the support provided to the System and affiliated health services, through formal training, self-motivated informal research on industry related trends and breaking news.
  • Promotes the image and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership and providing direct and open lines of communication.
  • Contributes to the work of committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts of the System.
  • Performs other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in enterprise network administration, with at least 3 years specifically focused on engineering Microsoft Azure networking architectures.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or an equivalent combination of formal education and practical field experience.
  • Proven expertise in managing complex Cisco architectures, ASA firewalls (physical and virtual), BGP/OSPF protocols, and multi-site WAN environments.
  • Additional consideration is given to those possessing relevant certifications, such as:
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700)
    • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
    • DRI International Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP)
    • CompTIA A+
    • CompTIA Network+
    • CompTIA Security+
  • Proven experience navigating enterprise change management, risk assessment, and incident response processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Windows desktop operating systems across computing platforms (e.g., laptops, tablets, and desktop computers).
  • Strong knowledge of network technologies, their deployment, and maintenance focusing on, but not limited to, Cisco devices.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise network security technologies including, but not limited to, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, intrusion prevention systems, related methodologies, and their implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of VoIP technologies (Cisco CUCM, SIP trunking) alongside modern cloud-based voice deployments (MS Teams Voice).

  • Proficiency utilizing enterprise project management software and tracking applications (e.g., Clickup) to manage complex migrations, document workflows, and track cross-functional infrastructure initiatives.

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences via phone, email, and an internal ticketing system.
