Job SummaryThe Manager - Network Security is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of enterprise network security infrastructure. This role leads the protection of organizational systems, networks, and data against evolving threats while ensuring high availability, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
This position partners closely with Infrastructure, Cloud, Application, Security Operations, Compliance, and Business teams to establish secure architecture, enforce security standards, and drive strategic initiatives that align with organizational risk tolerance and business objectives.
This position is required to report to the Somerset, NJ office location on a hybrid basis.

Role Description

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of network security engineers.

  • Define and execute the enterprise network security strategy and multi-year roadmap.

  • Establish and maintain security standards, policies, procedures, and operational runbooks.

  • Manage security initiatives, including project delivery, budgets, vendors, and managed service providers.

  • Partner with leadership to assess risk, report on security posture, and drive continuous improvement.

Security Engineering

  • Design and maintain secure network architectures for on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.

  • Implement and support security technologies, including:

    • Next-generation firewalls (NGFW)

    • Secure web gateways and proxy services

    • DDoS protection solutions

    • Network Access Control (NAC)

    • SIEM integrations and security telemetry

    • Multi-factor authentication (MFA) and identity-aware security controls

  • Support cloud security initiatives across Azure, AWS, and Microsoft 365 environments.

Risk, Compliance & Governance

  • Support regulatory and compliance initiatives, including:

    • GDPR

    • HIPAA

    • SOX

    • PCI-DSS

    • NIST

    • ISO 27001

  • Conduct security assessments, audits, architecture reviews, and vulnerability management activities.

  • Ensure security documentation, standards, and operational playbooks remain accurate and up to date.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with Infrastructure, Security Operations Center (SOC), Cloud, and Application teams to ensure secure system design and deployment.

  • Collaborate with vendors and external partners on security services and technologies.

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • 7-10+ years of experience in network security and enterprise infrastructure.

  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience.

  • Ability to travel 20%

Preferred
  • Preferred certifications include: CISSP, CISM, CCNP, Security, PCNSE, CEH, Security+

  • Zero Trust architecture and implementation experience.

  • Experience with SASE and SSE technologies.

  • Automation and scripting experience using PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies.

  • Experience with SD-WAN security design and operations.

  • Regulatory compliance and audit support experience.

The estimated annual pay range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000 which includes a base salary. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
