Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Validation Engineer to lead comprehensive security testing and validation across cloud platforms, backend services, APIs, and connected devices. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in cloud security, network protocols, API security testing, TLS/PKI, Python automation, and vulnerability validation. This role will work closely with development, DevOps, and security teams to identify security risks, validate secure architectures, and ensure enterprise applications and connected systems meet cybersecurity and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute cybersecurity validation and security test plans based on product architecture, technical requirements, and design specifications.
  • Perform security testing across AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud environments, backend services, APIs, and connected/IoT devices.
  • Conduct API security testing, traffic interception, replay analysis, and vulnerability validation using Burp Suite, Fiddler, OpenSSL, Wireshark, and related tools.
  • Validate secure communication protocols including TLS 1.2/1.3, SSL, PKI, certificate management, and mutual TLS (mTLS).
  • Develop Python automation scripts to streamline security testing, validation, and reporting processes.
  • Analyze network traffic, troubleshoot security issues, and identify vulnerabilities across distributed systems.
  • Collaborate with software engineering, DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams to remediate security findings.
  • Document test plans, security assessments, defects, risk analysis, and validation results.
  • Support secure architecture reviews and recommend improvements based on cybersecurity best practices.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for security testing methodologies, automation, and DevSecOps processes.
Must-have Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity testing, or 10+ years of relevant experience without a degree (or with applicable certifications).
  • Strong experience performing security validation and cybersecurity testing for enterprise applications and cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience securing AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud platforms.
  • Deep knowledge of TLS/SSL, PKI, certificate management, mTLS, and secure communication protocols.
  • Strong proficiency in Python scripting for security automation and testing.
  • Experience using Wireshark, Burp Suite, Fiddler, OpenSSL, or similar security analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, networking protocols, and network security fundamentals.
  • Experience working with Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot complex security issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-have Skills:
  • Experience with IoT, embedded systems, connected devices, or medical device cybersecurity.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container security.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated security testing.
  • Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune, MECM).
  • Familiarity with security assessment tools such as ScoutSuite, Prowler, Snyk, or similar.
  • Experience with Jira, Xray, or other test management platforms.
  • Understanding of regulated environments and medical device design controls.
Preferred Certifications:
  • Security+, CySA+, GSEC, CEH, OSCP, or equivalent cybersecurity certification.
  • Cloud Security certifications such as AWS Security Specialty, Microsoft Azure Security Engineer, or Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer are a plus.
