The Distribution Engineer plays a key role in the design, analysis, and optimization of electrical power distribution systems. This position ensures safe, reliable, and cost-effective delivery of power while maintaining compliance with all safety, regulatory, and environmental standards. The engineer will manage projects from planning through implementation, coordinate with field and design teams, and identify opportunities for network improvements and modernization.
System Design & Planning
Design and plan overhead and underground distribution systems for power delivery.
Review and approve detailed design drawings, equipment specifications, and standards.
Perform load flow, fault, and voltage-drop analyses to ensure system reliability.
Network Optimization & Project Management
Optimize the distribution network for efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously from initiation through closeout, ensuring schedule, budget, and scope compliance.
Develop project plans, material estimates, and coordinate field implementation.
Regulatory Compliance & Safety
Ensure all designs and activities meet applicable NESC, NEC, OSHA, and local utility standards.
Promote a culture of Safety First through all project phases.
System Analysis & Maintenance
Identify opportunities for network upgrades, replacements, and proactive maintenance.
Support field operations with engineering analysis during outages, restoration, and troubleshooting.
