We are seeking a Junior Network Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Support Senior Network Engineers with the design, configuration, installation, and test of IT network and boundary protection devices and systems within the MDA Enterprise.
  • Support Senior Network Engineers with developing and documenting detailed designs with supporting implementation, test, and transition plans.
  • Assist Senior Network Engineers with providing specifications and detailed schematics for network architectures, hardware and software selections, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
  • Support the engineering team to develop derived system level requirements based on collaborative review of project objectives.
  • Proficient in routing and switching protocols to include BGP, OSPF, TCP/UDP, VPN/VRF, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, SD-WAN, ISE
  • Work hands-on maintaining and troubleshooting networks to include Cisco, Riverbed, and Broadcom products.
  • Produce work products that are of high quality and adhere to IRES and MDA procedures and policies including support for internal reviews.
  • Work products will include artifacts such as System and Connectivity drawings as well as DoDAF OV and SV documentation.
  • Review and remediate STIG Vulnerability findings

The successful candidate will:
  • Have strong technical writing and verbal communications skills
  • Be able, and willing, to work in a fast-paced environment with supervision

What You Bring
Basic Requirements:
  • Must have at least 1 year of directly related/specialized experience in network engineering
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Must have an understanding of networks, routing and switching, security, and firewalls
  • Must have, or obtain within 6 months of hire, an active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ie. Security+)
  • Must have active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements:
  • Have a CCNA certification
