Position: Network Engineer
Location: Downey, CA
Duration: 12 months
Mandatory Skills:
The Network Engineer will have advanced skills in network monitoring tools and a comprehensive knowledge of protocols, emerging network technologies, network security, file servers, cable infrastructure, and topologies. They apply in depth knowledge to support network infrastructure such as e-mail, storage management, file and print services, routers, wireless access points, switches, firewalls, host access, network-related software, network management systems, network security appliances, Internet, voice networks, SIP phones and backup and disaster recovery services.
- Cisco CLI proficiency (e.g. systems such as 7k and 9k series appliances and virtual routers/switches). CLI proficiency is extremely important. - Cisco ACI proficiency (must be comfortable with CLI management). - Edge routing protocols (BGP, GRE, etc.) proficiency. - ISP configuration, monitoring, and management. - Cloud routing, management and troubleshooting with AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle, etc. - Hands-on Cisco hardware experience with systems such as 7k and 9k series appliances including configuration, management, monitoring and troubleshooting. - Hands-on support of various infrastructure connectivity (hardware to hardware, virtual to hardware, virtual to virtual, cloud to virtual, etc.). - Ability to quickly learn and find technical information quickly to resolve problems
This classification requires a minimum of four (4) years of broad, extensive, and increasingly responsible, full-time experience planning, designing, installing, and maintaining complete network infrastructure in a centralized IT organization with a high-availability environment. At least one (1) year of that experience must be in a lead capacity
Experience Preferred:
Managing Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) infrastructure hands on experience. - Cisco CLI hands on experience (must be extremely comfortable with CLI). - Edge routing including BGP, GRE, etc. experience. - Support connectivity to various ISPs and look at redundancy, correct routing to accomplish various tasks, etc. experience. - Setting up and managing Cloud to data center connectivity including cloud routing (Azure, AWS, Google, Oracle, etc.) experience. - Cisco hardware (primarily 7k and 9k series, but other similar devices are acceptable) experience. - Managing upgrades for various Cisco appliances and working with TAC when needed experience. - Connecting various infrastructure (hardware to hardware, virtual to virtual, cloud to virtual, etc.) experience. - Experience using MS Teams, Cisco WebEx, and other collaborations tools. - Experience using MS SharePoint for documentation and collaboration. Data center network engineering and operations, and the secure deployment and monitoring of these environments. Administers Cisco as well as various Cloud environments including AWS, Azure, Google, Oracle, SalesForce, etc., infrastructure including both CLI and ACI interfaces to accomplish their goals. Ability to trace and navigate to ACLs through the CLI
Education Required:
This classification requires the possession of a bachelor's degree in an IT-related or Engineering field or a closely related field. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
