Job description

Reservoir Fluids Program Manager

Intertek is searching for an Reservoir Fluids Program Manager to join our Exploration and Production team at our Westport office in Houston, Texas.  This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in ATIC (Assurance, Testing, Inspection, and Certification) Services!

The Reservoir Fluids Program Manager is responsible for leading and managing Pressure-Volume-Temperature laboratory projects and reservoir fluid characterization programs supporting oil and gas assets. This role oversees project execution from sample receipt through final reporting, ensuring high-quality technical deliverables, compliance with safety and quality standards, and exceptional client satisfaction. The Program Manager serves as the primary interface between laboratory teams, reservoir engineers, asset teams, and external clients, delivering accurate fluid property data and technical insights that support reservoir development, production optimization, and field management decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management

Plan, coordinate, and manage multiple PVT and reservoir fluid characterization projects simultaneously.

Develop project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and technical deliverables.

Monitor project performance and ensure completion within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project execution.

Technical Leadership

Provide technical oversight for PVT studies, including compositional analysis, Constant Composition Expansion (CCE), Constant Volume Depletion (CVD), Differential Liberation, separator testing, viscosity measurements, and fluid sampling programs.

Review and interpret laboratory data and ensure the technical accuracy of reports and recommendations.

Develop, validate, and apply Equation of State (EOS) models to support reservoir simulation, production forecasting, and fluid property prediction.

Evaluate phase behavior, fluid properties, and flow assurance data to support reservoir development and production strategies.

Provide technical guidance to reservoir engineers, production engineers, geoscientists, and asset teams.

Laboratory Operations, Quality Assurance, and HSE

Ensure compliance with laboratory QA/QC procedures, accreditation requirements, and industry standards.

Promote adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.

Oversee the safe handling of hazardous fluids, including HS-containing samples and High-Pressure High-Temperature (HPHT) testing conditions.

Coordinate laboratory resources, equipment utilization, and workflow efficiency to maximize productivity and data quality.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives in laboratory operations, testing methodologies, and reporting processes.

Client and Business Support

Serve as the primary technical contact for clients and asset teams.

Communicate project status, technical findings, and recommendations through meetings, presentations, and technical reports.

Build and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Support business development efforts by preparing technical proposals, project scopes, and client presentations.

Team Leadership and Development

Lead, mentor, and develop laboratory engineers, scientists, and technicians.

Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management activities.

Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

Promote knowledge sharing and professional development across the organization.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Minimum of 7 years of experience in PVT analysis, reservoir fluid characterization, reservoir engineering, production chemistry, or related disciplines.

Demonstrated experience managing technical projects and multidisciplinary teams.

Experience working with international oil companies (IOCs), national oil companies (NOCs), operators, or laboratory service providers is preferred.

Strong understanding of reservoir fluid behavior, phase equilibrium, thermodynamics, and fluid characterization.

Experience with EOS development, fluid property modeling, and reservoir fluid simulation.

Knowledge of flow assurance challenges, including hydrate formation, wax deposition, asphaltene precipitation, emulsions, and scale management.

Familiarity with industry standards, recommended practices, and best practices for reservoir fluid sampling and laboratory testing.

Education

Bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Geology, or a related scientific discipline.

Master's degree or PhD preferred.
