The contributions you will make:

This position is responsible for the design, implementation, and reliable operation of enterprise network and telecommunication services that enable secure, resilient, and high-performing connectivity across the organization. The incumbent leads a team focused on LAN/WAN, wireless, voice, and network security technologies, ensuring services are aligned with enterprise standards, performance objectives, and security requirements. Provides hands-on technical leadership, drives modernization of the network environment, and ensures operational excellence in support of enterprise business operations. Partners with peers across Infrastructure, Security, and Applications to deliver scalable and integrated connectivity solutions that advance the organization's technology strategy and user experience.

A typical day:

Technical and Operational Leadership

  • Leads the design, implementation, and operation of enterprise network and telecommunications services, including LAN, WAN, wireless, SD-WAN, VPN, and telephony/VoIP, to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable connectivity.
  • Ensures network performance, availability, and security through monitoring, incident management, capacity planning, and compliance with security standards.
  • Drives modernization and operational efficiency through automation, process improvement, and adoption of emerging technologies.

Talent Management

  • Provides leadership, coaching, and direction to the network engineering team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Develops and retains talent through mentoring, training, career development, performance management, and recognition.
  • Builds an inclusive, values-driven team culture while promoting cross-functional partnerships, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence.

Service Delivery and Reliability

  • Ensures reliable network operations by meeting service levels, performance targets, and business continuity requirements.
  • Leads incident, problem, and change management processes to minimize disruptions and maintain service quality.
  • Oversees network lifecycle management, project support, documentation, and disaster recovery activities to ensure resilient and well-managed connectivity services.

Financial and Vendor Management

  • Supports the planning and management of operational and capital budgets for network and telecommunications services.

  • Identifies opportunities for cost optimization and technology modernization through vendor collaboration and evaluation of emerging network solutions.

The skills and experience we prefer you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of IT infrastructure experience with a focus on network engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership and people management experience preferred.
  • Proven experience managing enterprise network operations and leading network modernization or transformation initiatives.
  • Advanced expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, VPN, SD-WAN, wireless, and VoIP technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or comparable enterprise networking platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, TCP/IP, VLANs, and QoS.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking, hybrid connectivity, and software-defined networking principles.
  • Working knowledge of network security practices, zero-trust architecture, and identity and access management integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, manage priorities, and deliver results in a hybrid work environment.
  • Experience with network monitoring and observability tools for performance and fault management.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with strong attention to detail.

The actual title and base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is eligible for variable compensation and other benefits.

$118,500—$180,000 USD
