Summary
The Network Administrator II is responsible for the design and execution of short-term and long-term plans to ensure the Bank's IT infrastructure capacity remains up to date. Maintain activity logs, identify and measure key operational metrics, and establish strategic direction for operating systems. Establishes software and hardware standards including specifications of virtual machines.
Manages and directs network and systems engineers, internal and/or external, in supporting Bank's infrastructure ensuring adherence to agreed standards. Provides training/mentoring as necessary to associates responsible for support of the Bank infrastructure. Administers, installs and troubleshoots a variety of Forcht Bank technology equipment focusing on the maintenance, design, and development of infrastructure systems inclusive of LANs, WANs, internet, etc. Perform and/or monitor system maintenance tasks, such as system back-up, recovery and equipment maintenance. Test network and server performance. Identify and measure key infrastructure operational metrics.
Is the primary point of contact with the Bank's internet service providers. Maintains logs and documentation relative to continuity of infrastructure operation including licensing and billing.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.
  • Manage IT infrastructure to ensure continuity of Bank operations.
  • Manage Network Engineers, Network Architects, and Network Analysts, both internal and external, in support of the Bank network.
  • Manage Systems Engineers, Server Architects, and Systems Analysts, both internal and external, in support of Bank data center.
  • Create and implement training plans for infrastructure changes.
  • Analyze existing systems to ensure necessary security is provided.
  • Ensure infrastructure specifications meet the needs of the Bank.
  • Understand Bank business requirements and incorporate hardware, operating systems, and connectivity solutions to best support company goals.
  • Work with internal and external Auditors and Regulatory Agencies as needed.
  • Work closely with the Bank's MSP and other outside technology vendors to perform installation, maintenance or updates as needed.
  • Ensure that all updates or installations are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure that the Forcht Bank IT infrastructure meets the tenants of the Forcht Bank IT Security Policy, the Forcht Bank BCP/DR policy and Forcht Bank Change Management Policy.
  • Participate in Forcht Bank BCP/DR testing as well as vendor BCP testing as needed to meet the Forcht Bank BCP Testing Policy.
  • Assist the ISO in managing cyber-attack vectors and responding to cyber related security events. This includes vulnerability remediation as needed.
  • Assist with the implementation and management of the M365 suite of products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervision of Network Engineer, System Engineer, Network Architect, Server Architect, Network Analyst and Systems Analyst.

  • General knowledge of bank operations and procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge of network infrastructures including MPLS/BGP, routing, switching, SDN/NFV, EVPN, VXLAN.
  • Advanced knowledge of system infrastructure including Windows Servers, MS Exchange, MS O365, VMware, Citrix.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and bank information systems.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in handling sensitive documents or other confidential information.
  • Ability to communicate orally in order to convey information tactfully and effectively to all levels of employees and customers. This includes the ability to provide Executive or Board reports as needed.
  • Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand points being made, ask questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Ability to manage time and be efficient and effective in the completion of assignments.
  • Ability to establish productive business interpersonal relationships with others inside and outside the organization and to work with little direct supervision in carrying out the responsibilities assigned.

  • Ability to be available during non-business hours as needed for IT equipment installation or testing.
  • Ability to perform multiple job functions and tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Basic knowledge of mathematics and accounting principles including but not limited to general ledger entries, problem resolution and error detection.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, IT, supply chain management or the equivalent is required.
  • Five (5) years of specific system support, IT infrastructure or IT networking experience required.
  • CCNA, CCNP, VCP, MCSA, MCSE certifications preferred.

Other Requirements
  • Will be required to attend activities outside the bank to stay abreast of new developments, best practices, and statutory and regulatory changes.
  • After hour, non-business hours may be needed during certain times of the year, special projects, system updates or crisis/outage events.
