Job description

We are assisting an exciting client that specializes in both organic and specialty fresh food distribution there's never been a more exciting time to be able to join this growing team. If you're enthusiastic about working in an environment that fosters a people-first culture and an organization committed to good living, good food and good service then this could be a great opportunity for you.  As a Network Operations Supervisor you will be responsible for the operations of all network and telephony in the enterprise.

Responsibility

  • Functions as a lead worker doing the work similar to those in the work unit; 
  • Coordinate day to day activities for direct reports.
  • Establishes procedures and processes for daily performance monitoring and ensures proactive steps are taken to minimize potential issues that impact the organizationโ€™s ability to complete its mission.
  • Manages 3rd party support teams.
  • Organizes and conducts periodic team meetings.
  • Prepare Management Reports and metrics as required. 
  • Prepares performance reviews and provides mentoring to direct reports.

Engineering and Provisioning:

  • Lead network engineering initiatives - Lead projects and technology deployments 
  • Coordinates the installation new network locations and the refresh of existing locations as needed.
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
  • Contribute to and maintain network security standards.

Operations and Support:

  • Oversee daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all network resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system logs
  • Ensure wireless infrastructure in all warehouse facilities are operating at peak efficiency.
  • Provide Tier III/other support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.

Maintenance:

  • Ensure all network patches and upgrades are completed on a regular basis.
  • Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.
  • Coordinate ongoing business continuity tests to ensure all backup systems are available. 

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This position supervises employees from entry level to senior engineers. Coordinating day to day tasks and prioritizing support incidents, administrative functions, and projects. Overseeing 3rd party support vendors.


Requirements

Requirements, Qualifications

  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to determine how to use resources and time to meet schedules and objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop successful relationships with external and internal partners.
  • Experience supporting a multi-site 24/7 network, preferably in a warehouse environment.

Additional Skills

  • Cisco CCNP in at least one discipline Wireless preferred.
  • Experience Palo Alto Networks Firewalls.
  • Experience with WAN Optimization (Riverbed preferred).
  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS preferred).
  • Experience with SD-WAN technologies.
  • Experience with VOIP and SIP technologies.
