Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day operations
  • Lead the hiring process for operations crew
  • Design strategy and set goals for growth
  • Maintain budgets and optimize expenses
  • Set policies and processes
  • Ensure employees work productively, arrive to work on time, and develop professionally
  • Oversee recruitment and training of new employees
  • Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
  • Direct the employee assessment process
  • Prepare regular reports for ownership
  • Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations
  • Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors)
 
Requirements and skills
  • Proven experience as an Operations, General Manager or similar role
  • Experience in planning and budgeting
  • Is able to train and coach the staff on proper tool usage
  • Easily sees new business opportunities
  • Experienced with using hand and power tools and is skilled enough to use the proper tools to troubleshoot broken equipment on jobsites, make repairs, and help with scheduled maintenance on equipment
  • Knowledge of business processes and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations, etc.)
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Effectively prioritizes and delegates tasks
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • BSc/BA in Business or relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
  • Previous Automotive Mechanic work or small engine work like honda lawnmowers is a plus
  • Welding skills is a plus
