Job Description

 Under general supervision, the candidate should be able to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems encountered by users of various application platforms to include, server & desktop applications, networking and perimeter security appliances, and other technologies; troubleshoot and solve LAN/WAN problems; provide technical support to end-users regarding hardware and software; provides technical expertise to clients regarding optimal set-up for software, hardware and network use; install, configure, monitor and troubleshoot a wide range of network and data communications software and hardware; train clients in various software applications and network-related procedures; and perform related work as required. 

Qualifications

Education :

Certificate or Associate's degree with at least two years of coursework in computer sciences.

One (1) year in a Service Desk/Call Center or system administration (e.g., Network, Windows) role

Required Skills and Experience:

Act as first responder to infrastructure trouble-tickets including: LAN/WAN switching routing, wireless network, server, firewall, IDS, and IPS issues.

Perform routine troubleshooting and maintenance on Windows and Linux servers, Security Appliances, Network devices, and SIEM solutions 

Technicians must have the product knowledge and technical skills to install and configure network/security components and operating systems.

Maintain enterprise monitoring Platform 

Assist with documenting configurations and maintaining enterprise repository of systems documentation

Strong interpersonal skills including effective team communication and collaboration 

Strong technical documentation skills required 

Comfortable working in a dynamic, highly communicative team environment 

Self-starter who is able to work with little direct supervision and oversight while making consistent progress on project deliverables 

Be able to explain design decisions clearly and logically to colleagues, peers, and customers

Expertise with relevant infrastructure technologies, such as the following:

Windows Server 2008/2012/2016

Microsoft Active Directory

Certificate Services (PKI)

Routing/Switching

Network Security (IDS,IPS, Firewalls, ADC's, etc.)
