Job description

Senior Network Engineer

Our Enterprise Networks practice, part of Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure within AI & Engineering, helps clients architect, modernize, and operate the network foundation that underpins their digital and AI-driven ambitions. We deliver network assessments, strategy, and implementations that improve agility, resilience, and security while reducing operational cost through automation. Our practitioners work across enterprise campus, data center, and cloud-interconnected networks, guiding clients through transformative initiatives - including the network demands introduced by AI/ML workloads - using leading vendor solutions and Deloitte-developed accelerators.

Recruiting for this role ends on 10/3/26.

Work you'll do

As part of our team, you will engage with practitioners and professionals across multiple disciplines, both within Deloitte and our clients' organizations. You'll have exposure to a broad range of technologies and the opportunity to deepen your expertise while expanding into adjacent domains. Our practitioners lead and support technical teams to assess, design, and deploy enterprise network solutions across campus, data center, and hybrid cloud environments, owning delivery outcomes while managing client and stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

Required

  • 4 plus years of experience with enterprise networking technologies, including:
    • Layer 2 protocols (ARP, 802.1Q, Spanning Tree)
    • Layer 3 protocols (BGP, OSPF)
    • Layer 4-7 technologies (TCP, load balancers, firewalls, DNS)
  • 3-5 years of relevant consulting or industry experience, including exposure to enterprise-class systems integration engagements
  • Experience supporting project delivery workstreams and coordinating with client stakeholders
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred

  • Network certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent)
  • Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network equipment
  • Exposure to spine-leaf data center architectures and network overlays (e.g., VXLAN)
  • Familiarity with network security devices (next-generation firewalls, IPS) and their role in network segmentation
  • Understanding of connecting enterprise networks to public cloud environments via leased lines or VPN
  • Knowledge of core infrastructure protocols (DNS, DHCP, IPAM, SSL/TLS, NTP, HTTP/HTTPS, LDAP, Microsoft AD)
  • Experience with network traffic analysis and troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, tcpdump, iperf)
  • Exposure to automation and configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform, Git)
  • Basic familiarity with APIs and structured data/config models (YANG, JSON)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to support client workshops and documentation

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $122,200 to $240,500.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
