Job description

TMC Technologies is seeking an on site Network Engineer at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM, to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with experienced engineers and customers supporting the Space Systems Command. Our network team makes sure satellites can communicate with their ground systems and are responsible for monitoring and support of network infrastructure (Cisco routers and switches, Palo Alto firewalls, SolarWinds, and Identity Services Engine (ISE) authentication) and virtual server environments (private cloud via VMWare Cloud Foundation, servers, storage area networks, and VMware). Tasking includes: - Troubleshoot, install, implement and administer network systems - Support the cybersecurity team to remediate deficiencies - Analyze network characteristics such as traffic, connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes, and throughput - Assist more senior network engineers with the installation, removal and modifications to network components - Configure, deploy, upgrade, and troubleshoot multivendor switches, routers, firewalls, and peripheral equipment in operational and test lab environments - Operate/administer Linux and Unix systems - Provide occasional after-hours operational support for network issues - Apply knowledge of enterprise system monitoring and management tools (Solar Winds, WireShark, iPerf, etc.) to analyze network activity and problems - Develop and maintain network topologies, diagrams and IP tracking Job Requirements Requirements: - Active Top Secret or DoE Q clearance with SCI eligibility (must be eligible for SCI indoctrination within first 3 months of start date) and be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI - A bachelor's degree in science and technology related discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university and 5 years or more relevant experience; a Master's degree and 3 years or more experience. Will accept 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree - Must possess DoD 8570 baseline certification. - Strong background in Microsoft Office tools and Visio. - Record of success in contributing to the completion of programs and projects; ability to obtain results and make key recommendations.
