Join a dynamic and consistently expanding program at GDIT! The US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X) is a leading-edge initiative directly supporting critical DoW intelligence information sharing regarding current and emerging global threats to mission partners, coalition forces, and developing nations. With a globally distributed team aligned with each combatant command, US BICES-X plays a vital role in supporting the warfighter and their missions. We are seeking a creative and highly motivated professional eager to tackle real-world challenges within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

US BICES-X is seeking a skilled and proactive Senior Network Engineer to manage and optimize our critical network infrastructure at our central hub location, which houses a key service node, and ensure seamless and secure connectivity to our remote sites via VPN. You will be instrumental in maintaining the stability, performance, and security of our network environment, playing a key role in supporting mission operations. This position requires a strong understanding of networking principles, hands-on experience with a variety of network hardware and software, and excellent problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain network security policies, ensuring firewalls and security devices are configured to protect organizational data and systems.
  • Ensure high availability, redundancy, and optimal performance of the central service node's network infrastructure, supporting critical applications and services.
  • Design, configure, and manage secure VPN connections to provide reliable communication between remote locations.
  • Maintain and optimize network equipment, including routers, firewalls, switches, and encryption devices, ensuring stable and efficient connectivity.

  • Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication on network-related initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and security standards, maintaining best practices across all network operations.
  • Provide on-call support for critical network issues, ensuring swift resolution during off-hours.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education, technical experience
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • 10+ years Network Engineering experience.
  • Cisco CCNA or equivalent industry-recognized networking certification.
  • Security+ CE or equivalent security certification.
  • Must have a valid passport and willing to travel.
  • Demonstrated mastery configuring/troubleshooting DMVPN, and GRE tunnels.
  • Proven expertise in routing/switching protocols (EIGRP, BGP, STP, IKEv2, ESP, SIP, SCCP).
  • Expertise in network security policy implementation and security device configuration.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with HAIPE encryption devices(GDMS, ViaSat).
  • Proven teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently, multitask, and maintain quality in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and autonomous work skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Results-driven, efficient, energetic, and highly motivated.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in CS, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Cisco CCNP, Juniper JNCIP, or other relevant professional-level certifications.
  • Relevant security certifications such as CISSP or CASP+.
  • ITIL Foundation certification (v3 or v4).
  • Experience administering and supporting network access control systems.
  • Experience with VoIP/collaboration systems (e.g., Cisco Call Manager).
  • Experience with firewalls and rule sets.
  • Knowledge of virtualization (VMware, Omnissa Horizon, Microsoft).
The likely salary range for this position is $97,750 - $132,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
