Job description

In this role, you will help ensure that the CFS Brands IT Operations unit functions as a highly professional and aligned service that efficiently meets the needs and expectations of CFS Brands and its users. This will be accomplished by working closely with IT management to maintain and update enterprise-level operating systems, applications, and hardware. In addition, this role will serve as a functional project manager for high-visibility infrastructure projects. As a member of the IT team that is highly collaborative, you will be expected to perform these duties with a positive attitude, in a collaborative manner, and promote a "team-first" environment throughout CFS Brands.

Essential Duties:

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Responsible for the management of all switches and access points globally.
  • Responsible for managing all firewall hardware globally.
  • Responsible for managing all wireless systems globally.
  • Responsible for management of all IT power systems and ensuring cooling systems are functional.
  • Accountable for promptly responding to a system outage, resolving issues, and diagnosing root causes of issues.
  • Responsible for migrating internal or acquisition domains and workgroups into CFS standards.
  • Accountable for managing DNS and DHCP globally.
  • Accountable for assisting with the management of company firewalls, physical security control systems, and cybersecurity tools and platforms.
  • Accountable for assisting with the planning of new hardware solutions and executing on installation.
  • Responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation of measures to protect and secure data, software, and hardware.
  • Responsible for researching and recommending innovative and automated approaches to system administration tasks.
  • Responsible for participation in an On-Call rotation
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining departmental procedural documents and the IT knowledge base.
  • Accountable for notifying all users of upcoming planned maintenance, service disruptions, and reinstatements following agreed upon procedures and quality standards.
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding established departmental workload and efficiency goals.
  • Accountable for assisting in meeting compliance with CFS Brands policies and procedures, and internal controls.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness, organization, and professional appearance of own work area, the IT Operations workbench, data center, and related hardware storage areas.


Education Required:

  • Five years of relevant Network Engineer experience supporting enterprise scale environments with a mid-level certifications such as Network+, Security+, MCSA, etc.
  • Or Eight years of relevant Network Engineer experience supporting enterprise scale environments.
  • Additional Network certifications are a plus.

Skills Required:

The type of experience required to effectively perform the essential functions and responsibilities of this position are:

  • Advanced knowledge of CLI switch administration.
  • Advanced understanding of firewall administration.
  • Advanced knowledge of wireless administration.
  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP subnetting
  • Good knowledge of 802.11 Standards and their practical implementation
  • Good knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF
  • Good knowledge of the TCP/IP and OSI Models
  • Basic knowledge of DNS and DHCP management.
  • Basic knowledge of firewall rules, VPN setup, and security protocols
  • Basic knowledge of VLANs and network segmentation
  • Good organizational skills and experience with helpdesk systems, SLAs, and support contracts.
  • Good knowledge of applicable information security principles and data privacy practices/laws.
  • Good understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery practices.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve network issues efficiently.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate technical information, both verbal and written, to a wide range of end-users in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Willingness and ability to work extended hours as maintenance windows dictate.
  • Lifting up to 50lb occasionally is required, along with working on ladders and scissor lifts to assist with installing hardware and running cable as necessary.


Travel Required:

  • Up to 20% travel to support multiple operating locations and corporate initiatives across the US and Mexico, with potential travel to Europe.
