Description
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Project Manager with proven experience managing complex infrastructure projects, particularly those involving midrange systems such as IBM i, AIX, Linux, and Windows Server environments.
The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in server setup, data center buildouts, and regulated environments, and will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage infrastructure projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring scope, timeline, and budget are met.
Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) to organize and track project tasks and deliverables.
Direct and coordinate the efforts of technical and functional resources across multiple workstreams.
Oversee the setup of servers, virtualization platforms, and data center buildouts.
Ensure end-to-end integration of infrastructure components including compute, storage, networking, and security.
Manage project risks, develop mitigation plans, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Drive readiness and change adoption across impacted teams and stakeholders.
Serve as the primary point of contact for project communications, status updates, and issue resolution.
Ensure quality assurance and that all applicable change requirements are satisfied.
Collaborate with vendors, internal teams, and leadership to ensure successful project execution.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in infrastructure project management, preferably in midrange environments.
Demonstrated experience with WBS creation and management.
Proven track record of managing projects involving:
IBM Power Systems (IBM i, AIX)
Linux (RHEL, SUSE), Windows Server
VMware, Hyper-V, PowerVM
SAN/NAS storage and backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault)
Experience in regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare, utilities).
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, security, and compliance standards.
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet).
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
