Job Summary
As a Intermediate Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of complex, large-scale engineering and infrastructure projects within the chemical and industrial sectors. This role is responsible for providing strategic oversight and leadership throughout the full project lifecycle, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with client expectations, contractual obligations, and business objectives. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, executive stakeholders, clients, contractors, and global operations to drive successful project execution, operational excellence, and long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout of complex multidisciplinary engineering and capital projects.
  • Develop and oversee project execution plans, schedules, budgets, staffing strategies, and delivery methodologies.
  • Provide strategic direction to project teams to ensure alignment with scope, quality, schedule, and financial objectives.
  • Drive resolution of critical project issues, risks, and changes to minimize operational and commercial impacts.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with contractual requirements, company standards, and client expectations.
Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the senior point of contact for clients, joint venture partners, contractors, vendors, and key stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business and long-term partnerships.
  • Lead high-level project reviews, client presentations, and executive reporting activities.
  • Support business development initiatives, proposal preparation, project pursuits, and contract negotiations.
  • Facilitate collaboration across geographically dispersed teams and multiple business units.
Financial, Commercial & Risk Management
  • Oversee project financial performance, including forecasting, revenue recognition, cost control, and profitability management.
  • Identify and manage project risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review and manage contracts, change orders, claims, procurement activities, and subcontractor performance.
  • Ensure accurate project reporting, documentation, and compliance with internal governance processes.
  • Support portfolio planning and resource allocation activities to optimize operational performance.
Quality, Safety & Regulatory Compliance
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Ensure projects are executed in accordance with applicable industry regulations, codes, standards, and company procedures.
  • Oversee quality assurance and quality control processes across all phases of project execution.
  • Participate in audits, risk reviews, lessons learned initiatives, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Promote operational excellence and adherence to corporate governance standards.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and support project managers, engineers, and project support personnel.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment across multidisciplinary and global teams.
  • Provide guidance on project management best practices, technical coordination, and leadership development.
  • Support succession planning, talent development, and organizational capability growth initiatives.
  • Encourage innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within project teams.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of project management experience within engineering, chemical processing, industrial manufacturing, infrastructure, or related sectors.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale, multidisciplinary engineering or capital projects in a consulting, EPC, or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, project controls, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, contract management, and risk mitigation practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, contractors, and geographically distributed teams.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable industry regulations, safety standards, and engineering project delivery practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex priorities in a fast-paced global environment.
  • Proficiency with general project management, scheduling, financial reporting, and collaboration software tools.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP or equivalent are considered an asset.
