The Role: Network Infrastructure Lead Technician
This role serves as the senior technical lead for physical network infrastructure work within Switch facilities. You execute complex installs, act as the primary escalation point for urgent infrastructure issues, and provide technical guidance to other technicians. The role is hands-on and operates in a 24/7/365 mission-critical environment.
What You'll Do
  • Lead and coordinate complex physical network and circuit installations based on approved service orders.
  • Perform advanced installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of customer and Switch network infrastructure.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for urgent Network Infrastructure issues during assigned shifts.
  • Provide technical guidance and day-to-day mentorship to Network Infrastructure Technicians.
  • Deliver hands-on and classroom-style training sessions in coordination with management.
  • Create and maintain accurate Design Layout Records in a web-based system.
  • Install and support AC and DC power systems, including rectifiers, fuse alarm panels, and power converters.
  • Support Distributed Antenna System installations and related infrastructure.
  • Conduct or support site surveys for new and existing installations, including office builds and wireless infrastructure.
  • Perform service activations, migrations, and disconnects.
  • Troubleshoot down circuits, support turn-ups, and validate network infrastructure.
  • Lead facility decommissions and infrastructure removals, including documentation updates.
  • Interpret, investigate, and remediate mission-critical alerts.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure work meets Switch standards.
  • Document work, time, and outcomes clearly in ticketing and tracking systems.
  • Follow established escalation and notification procedures using sound judgment.
  • Provide input on process improvements for network operations and customer support.
  • Work flexible schedules that support 24/7/365 operations.
