Cyber Network Engineer

About your role:
You will be at the forefront of protecting sensitive data and safeguarding our clients' information by implementing advanced cybersecurity measures. Your role will be crucial in defending our network systems, data, and infrastructure from potential threats. You will collaborate with experts to design, develop, and deploy security solutions that ensure the highest levels of protection and compliance.

What you'll do:

  • Review, and govern enterprise network security architectures across internal networks, infrastructure services, and perimeter (DMZ) environments.
  • Provide architectural oversight and subject matter expertise for Network Detection and Response (NDR) platforms, including visibility design, traffic coverage, use cases, and control effectiveness.
  • Define and review security patterns for infrastructure services, including shared network services, platform integrations, and core enterprise connectivity.
  • Lead security architecture and control reviews for perimeter and DMZ environments, ensuring appropriate segmentation, traffic inspection, and threat prevention controls.
  • Assess network, infrastructure, and perimeter security risks and recommend risk-based mitigation strategies aligned to enterprise standards and partner with cross-functional teams to embed security controls into infrastructure and application designs throughout the technology lifecycle.
  • Conduct and support security assessments, architecture reviews, and control evaluations for NDR, infrastructure services, DMZ solutions and review security telemetry, NDR outputs, and tool-generated findings to identify control gaps, policy deviations, and emerging threats.
  • Drive continuous improvement of network security standards, reference architectures, and control requirements across enterprise and perimeter domains.
  • Develop and maintain clear, audit-ready documentation for security architectures, design decisions, control implementations and provide technical guidance and support to governance, risk, audit, and compliance stakeholders.

Experience and qualifications you'll need to have:

  • 6+ years of experience in Information Security for Financial Institutions (or similar regulated industries), with specific experience in developing, implementing and managing Network Security solutions.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat landscapes, and modern attack techniques.
  • Deep expertise in large-scale corporate network environments, including expert-level knowledge of routing, switching, and core network protocols.
  • Extensive experience with network security technologies such as firewalls, next-generation firewalls, IDS/IPS, web proxies, and related threat prevention and detection platforms.
  • Strong understanding of business processes, internal controls, IT risk management, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms and services, including integration of network security controls in Azure, AWS, or GCP environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in areas such as IT, Computer Science, IT Security, etc. and/or equivalent combination of educational background, related experience, and/or military experience

Certifications that would be great to have:

  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP Security, PCNSE, CCIE, or equivalent are preferred.

Salary Range

$128,000.00 - $216,000.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
