Job description

Summary: The position of Senior System Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving the organizationโ€™s IT infrastructure both on-premises and in the cloud to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available IT infrastructure in a hybrid virtual environment.
  2. Lead system architecture decisions, including servers, storage, virtualization, and cloud platforms
  3. Plan and execute system upgrades including testing, migrations, and new technology deployments around tight maintenance windows
  4. Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, documentation, and best practices
  5. Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies are in place and tested
  6. Monitor systems performance, capacity, and reliability; troubleshoot and implement improvements proactively
  7. Act as escalation point for complex technical issues for both IT and other business teams
  8. Reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency through automation and standardization
  9. Integrate systems and workflows across platforms and services
  10. Support cloud adoption strategies, including hybrid environments and migrations
  11. Optimize cloud costs, performance, and scalability
  12. Work closely with IT leadership, developers, network engineers, and business stakeholders
  13. Lead or participate in infrastructure-related projects and initiatives
  14. Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior administrators and engineers
  15. Contribute to long-term IT strategy and roadmap planning
