Job description

Job Summary:
Lumen Solutions Group Inc. is a technology solutions provider, and they are seeking a Mid Network Engineer to develop and install network infrastructure and ensure the security and functionality of network systems. The role involves troubleshooting issues, providing support to clients, and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance network quality and performance.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and install network infrastructure, configurations and equipment such as routers and switches
• Implement network security systems such as firewalls with ACL and object-groups.
• Monitor networks and troubleshoot issues or outages.
• Perform routine network maintenance, including installing and upgrading firmware and software on network devices.
• Provide remote or on-site customer and technical support to businesses and other clients.
• Test and install new network systems, hardware, software and applications.
• Develop engineering design packages to integrate new processes into existing ones.
• Collaborate with clients, other tech support services and network providers to ensure the quality of networks
• Develop strategic plans for future implementations relating to hardware and software upgrade and enhancement.
• Responsible for quality reviews and standards; participates in network audits or improvement
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT/OT equivalent from an accredited university
• Minimum of 10+ years of Network engineering or related experience in an industrial environment.
• Excellent problem-solving ability - Determining causes of operating errors, developing, and implementing sustainable solutions.
• Had previously experience with Network Segmentation and vrf-lite.
• Knowledge of dynamic LAN/WAN, VLAN, QOS and routing protocols (Proficient in BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF)
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, have excellent attention to detail and be willing and able to learn new technologies quickly.
• Have solid verbal and written communication skills.
• Experienced professional requiring little or no supervision.
• Analytical Skills - process flow analysis, systems analysis.
• Ability to learn and apply new technologies effectively.
• Ability to diagnose technical problems quickly and develop effective solutions.
• Disciplines in Change Management familiar with consequences of downtime in an industrial environment
• Networking experience including - Ethernet/IP, Raw Socket, Serial Interface.
• Knowledge and extensive experience administering a large, multi-site LAN/WAN network
• Knowledge of TCP/IP troubleshooting and network traffic analysis using packet capture tools like Wireshark
• Knowledge of network security and firewall administration
Preferred:
• an active CISCO CCNA Certification
