This is a hybrid-remote position open to candidates residing in Pennsylvania.

Position details:
The Network Engineer position is a key member of our Information Technology team. This position is responsible for ensuring the Merakey infrastructure environment remains up and stable. Along with the management, maintenance and monitoring of all network equipment. The Network Engineer works with other management staff to determine and implement specific infrastructure needs and priorities of the organization. The Network Engineer will:
  • Manage and support enterprise network infrastructure including Cisco switching/routing within a Microsoft Active Directory environment.
  • Administer, monitor, and optimize WAN/LAN networks across primary and secondary data centers.
  • Deploy and support Aruba wireless infrastructure (Aruba Central, ClearPass).
  • Configure, install, troubleshoot, and maintain network hardware, software, and firewalls (Fortinet) to ensure secure, reliable operations.
  • Monitor network performance, analyze traffic trends, and resolve recurring issues to improve overall network efficiency and stability.
  • Maintain network documentation, topology maps, device configurations (SolarWinds NCM), and accurate ticketing records.
  • Collaborate with project teams and vendors on new implementations, site surveys, solution design, and technology evaluations.
  • Participate in budget forecasting, vendor coordination, reporting, and provide on-call support for escalated issues as needed.

  • Bachelor's degree in Information management, computer science or healthcare IT administration or 5+ years equivalent experience in lieu of degree required.
  • 5+ years working in Enterprise Network Environment required.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate or Professional (CCNA/CCPA) preferred.

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Experience coordinating a variety of IT projects and prioritizing the importance.
  • Experience with SolarWinds and Network Monitoring tools.
  • Experience with Firewalls, including Fortinet
  • Strong IP routing and networking protocol experience, including IPv6 experience
  • Experience with commercial enterprise grade IP networking routers (e.g. Cisco, Aruba)
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills combined with the ability to effectively communicate technical issues
  • Familiarity with industry best practice as it relates to all Networking Security.
  • Familiarity with CISCO products, including 9300 Core switching and Routing. Also familiar with Layer 2 and 3 switching.
  • Working knowledge of dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP.
  • Working knowledge of Wireless connectivity, specifically Aruba networks and Clear Pass Wireless management.
  • Demonstrable experience working with Senior Engineers to assist in diagnosing Networking and security issues.
  • Familiarity with Data/Telephony technologies currently in use by major carriers, including VOIP and SIP trunking.
