The Voice and Data Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, turn up, and troubleshooting of VoIP equipment and maintaining all databases associated with the VoIP product offerings. The Voice and Data Technician will also maintain current networks and equipment, as well as design and implement new voice offerings.
Responsibilities:
What You Will Do
In all of your duties, you will have a relentless, obsessive, yet disciplined approach to manage all details to perfection and deliver desired results.
For positions at level Technician, Voice and Data I, your duties would include:
• Responsible for the installation, testing, turn up & trouble shooting of VoIP equipment and maintaining all databases associated with the VoIP product offerings.
• Install and maintain voice and data equipment in customer locations.
• Identify, troubleshoot, run and maintain Cat5/6 cable including patch panel installation and wall fishing.
• Maintain current network and equipment as well as design and implement new voice offerings.
• Maintain corporate IP phone network.
• Work closely with other technical personnel to maintain the network's integrity.
• Work with customers to resolve issues and proactively eliminate outages.
• Work with customers, vendors, and other companies to test new products and maintain current network.
• Cross train with other employees.
• Be available via cell phone 24x7.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
For positions at level Technician, Voice and Data II, your duties would include:
• All the responsibilities of the previous
• Maintain current knowledge of technological advances in the field.
• Coordinate construction and oversee installation of large VoIP deployments and integration into existing data networks.
• Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
• Design and understand complex call flow and have intricate knowledge of Hunt Groups, Multi-level Auto Attendants, and Call Centers.
• Perform Independent Circuit turnup of DIA circuits with EXFO test set.
• Perform Independent Circuit Troubleshooting with OTDR.
For positions at level Technician, Voice and Data III, your duties would include:
• All the responsibilities of the previous
• Design, install, maintain and troubleshoot highly complex voice and data networks.
• Assist in training new Technicians.
For positions at level Technician, Voice and Data Senior, your duties would include:
• All the responsibilities of the previous
• Design, install, maintain and troubleshoot highly complex voice and data networks including multi-site/campus deployments.
• Assist in training new Technicians.
• Engage with management in developing new processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with the other teams during new equipment rollouts to identify training needs for other technicians.

In addition to that, we require for Technician, Voice and Data I:
• At least two years of work experience (or equivalent education in a related field) in the telecommunications or data industry with experience in VoIP and TDM engineering.
• Proficiency with VOIP and TDM voice services.
• Basic familiarity with fiber and the ability to identify differences in fiber optic cables and connectors.
• Proven ability to turn-up DIA circuits with EXFO test set and troubleshoot with OTDR with minimal assistance.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work successfully in a team environment.
• High School diploma or equivalent educational experience.
In addition to that, we require for Technician, Voice and Data II:
• At least four years of work experience (or equivalent education in a related field) in the telecommunications or data industry with experience in VoIP and TDM engineering.
• Intricate knowledge of and the ability to maintain, install, and troubleshoot TDM, VoIP, TCP/IP, Microwave, and Data communication systems and Networks.
• Must be able to Design, Install, Maintain and Troubleshoot Complex Voice and Data Networks.
• Must also be able to integrate existing services into our VoIP offering including door phones, overhead paging (Both SIP and Analog), music on hold, and COAM IVR's.
In addition to that, we require for Technician, Voice and Data III:
• At least six years of work experience (or equivalent education in a related field) in the telecommunications or data industry with experience in VoIP and TDM engineering.
• Proven experience in routing voice or IP traffic.
In addition to that, we require for Technician, Voice and Data Senior:
• At least eight years of work experience (or equivalent education in a related field) in the telecommunications or data industry with experience in VoIP and TDM engineering.
• Proven experience in routing voice or IP traffic.
• Proven experience successfully training and leading new team members.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screen. Technician, Voice and Data must be able to work at a desk and perform accurate analysis and data entry for extended time periods. Must be able to travel to inspect and analyze customer premises and equipment. Traversing indoor and outdoor property, kneeling, bending, sitting, climbing, reaching and standing may also be required. Must have appropriate driver's license and be insurance eligible. Expected to work as needed some evenings and weekends.
