Job Description
Title: Sr. Network Engineer
 
Location: Savannah, GA
 
Terms: 6 Months Contract to HIRE

 

Key Tasks & Activities

  • Must have good technical Knowledge in handling Cisco Nexus 7000, 5000 and 2000 Series of Switches.
  • Good Technical knowledge on Switching concepts.
  • Must have knowledge on Routing Protocols like OSPF, EIGRP and BGP.
  • Should have good knowledge on VRF, DMVPN, F5 or Cisco ACE load balancer.
  • Should have good knowledge on Wireless Access Points, LAN Controllers like Cisco 5500, 7500 and 4400.
  • Manages delivery team of L2 Engineers.
  • Performs Root Cause Analysis
  • Tracks and updates key performance metrics.   
  • Manages and overseas shift handover process
  • Acts as point of contact for all service delivery issues/ pending work/ escalations
  • Project Management
  • Provide team support and process improvements through individual contributions.
  • Handles escalations
  • Participate in routine operational meetings
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow: Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of IT core LAN/WAN operations.
  • Performs advanced remote/on site troubleshooting  activities encompassing system design issues, upgrade plans, creation of technical product documentation, up gradation & site coordination.
  • Initiates network improvement recommendations based upon experiences in field
  • Provide onsite operations and admin consultancy during system administration & maintenance 
Qualifications

Min. Qualifications & Exp.

  • Minimum of 7+ years experience in the network industry.
  • CCNP certification is plus
  • Work experience with ITIL is desired.
  • Minimum of two years on large network environment for mission critical support environment and a minimum of two years product knowledge acquired through a mixture of empirical and formal certification
  • Must have management experience.
  • The ability to communicate technical details and concepts to at least senior management level within a customer organization, 
  • In depth knowledge of and experience with Cisco routing & Switching Products.
