Job description

Network Security Administrator
Clearance: U.S. Citizen with Secret clearance (minimum)
Location: Bluegrass Station, Lexington, KY (primary); travel to Ft Walton Beach, FL and Crestview, FL may be required
Position Summary:
The Network Security Administrator monitors and protects PEO SOFSA NIPRNet assets from internal and external threats by managing network access control lists, firewall configurations, and intrusion detection systems. This role is responsible for maintaining the security posture of the SOFSANet enclave and ensuring unauthorized access attempts are detected, analyzed, and mitigated.
Key Responsibilities
  • Implement network security policies and procedures
  • Administer and maintain firewalls
  • Manage, monitor, and update malware prevention systems
  • Monitor security advisory groups to ensure all necessary network security updates, patches, and preventive measures are in place
  • Prevent and detect intrusion; perform intrusion detection analysis
  • Manage web proxy appliances
  • Create and modify custom rules for IDS architecture
  • Monitor network access control lists and configurations to protect PEO SOFSA NIPRNet assets from both internal and external threats

Required Qualifications
  • 8 years of intensive and progressive experience in network security administration
  • Working knowledge of network management protocols, networking architecture, authentication practices, and security administration
  • Experience with firewall administration, IDS/IPS systems, malware prevention platforms, and web proxies
  • Familiarity with DoD network security requirements and enclave operations

Certification Requirements
  • Product certificates for any security hardware or software being administered
  • DoD 8140 DCWF requirements for Cyber Defense Infrastructure Support Specialist (Work Role 521) - Intermediate Qualification Level

Travel
  • Minimal; primarily on-site at Lexington, KY
