The RoleWe are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our growing team and support our client base across the Tri-State region. In this role, you will assist with the implementation and support of network and security solutions for enterprise clients. You will work independently on smaller engagements and collaborate with senior engineers on larger projects.
The Network Engineer will help with network deployments, perform troubleshooting, and provide technical support during project implementations. This role requires strong technical fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
**This is a hybrid role that requires on-site client presence in the Tri-State area**
Key Responsibilities
Assist with network and security deployments including staging, installation, configuration, validation, and troubleshooting of data and security networks. Configure routing, switching, and security platforms based on established designs and best practices. Support network discovery activities and assist with gathering technical requirements and documentation for client environments. Create and maintain implementation documentation, diagrams, and deployment notes to ensure clear communication with clients and internal teams. Work closely with sales engineers, project managers, and senior engineers to deliver successful customer outcomes. Diagnose and resolve network and security issues during project deployments and post-implementation support. Assist with scheduled maintenance procedures and network updates both remotely and onsite as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong ability to scale quickly within fast-paced, consulting-based environment.
  • Knowledge of / experience in working in a Partner / Professional or Managed Services environment.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting routing and switching platforms, preferably Cisco-based environments.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals including VLANs, routing, switching, and IP addressing.
  • Understanding of the TCP/IP protocol stack, OSI model, and common network services.
  • Basic experience with network security technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, and secure access controls.
  • Ability to follow established security best practices during network deployments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills when working with clients and internal teams.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience implementing network infrastructure.
  • Experience working with routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Network Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Skills & Certifications
  • Experience with platforms such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Aruba, or Arista networking technologies.
  • Familiarity with wireless networking and enterprise LAN environments.
  • Exposure to cloud networking concepts within AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is a plus
  • Basic familiarity with SD-WAN technologies is beneficial but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of scripting or automation tools such as Python is a plus.
  • Cisco CCNA, Cisco CCNP or equivalent networking certification preferred
  • Security or vendor-specific certifications are a plus.
