Job description

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to clients in the field. Your role will involve troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Linux system administration, server hardware, networking, database administration, and ensuring compliance with security standards. Additionally, you will need experience with supporting DoD accreditation and ATO processes to be successful in this role.

Candidates who have exposure to tools such as monitoring systems, configuration management tools, and network troubleshooting tools will benefit greatly in this position. Experience with virtualization technologies, container based workloads and cloud platforms will also be advantageous. In addition, candidates with a strong background in cybersecurity and knowledge of industry best practices will excel in this role.

Overall, the ideal candidate for this role will have a solid foundation in Linux system administration and database administration, possess a CompTIA Security+ CE (or comparable) DoDD 8570 IAT LVL I certification, and have experience with supporting accreditation and ATO processes. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a global team are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities:  

  • Provide field service engineering support for Linux systems  
  • Perform database administration tasks  
  • Maintain DoD 8570 IAT LVL I certification requirements
  • Assist with supporting accreditation and ATO process  
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as needed  

You have: 

  • 5 years of experience supporting federal client 's Linux environment
  • CompTIA Security+ CE certification
  • 2 years of experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (7/8/9) administration
  • At least one Linux Certification:  
    • Red Hat Certified System Administrator 
    • CompTIA Linux+ 
    • Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator (LFCS) 
    • Linux Professional Institute LPIC-1 

Bonus if you have:  

  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) 
  • LPIC-2/3 
  • PostgreSQLv14+ experience 

Clearance: 

  • An active TS/SCI is required
