Job description

Edu Tek is an established IT Services firm looking to hire an energetic, motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills to provide onsite network support to our clients. We’re looking for a driven and technically inclined individual ready to launch their career in IT. As a Level 1 Network Engineer, you'll play a hands-on role supporting our onsite teams and working closely with experienced Network Engineers to maintain and optimize essential systems and infrastructure.

Work Location: Fully On-Site

Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 DOE

Travel: Minimal travel required; candidates must have a personal vehicle

Screening: Background check and fingerprinting required

Responsibilities

Collaboration & Support:

Partner with onsite IT support and network teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues

Assist in maintaining core communication systems and networking devices

Network & Security:

Configure and manage firewalls (FortiGate, SonicWall, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA)

Support and manage Active Directory users, groups, and GPOs

Administer MDM solutions (Intune/Azure, JAMF, SCCM, Google Admin, WorkspaceOne)

Deploy and oversee content filtering systems (LightSpeed, GoGuardian, FortiEMS)

Maintain backup systems (Barracuda, Veeam) and ensure data recovery strategies

Server & Storage Operations:

Administer virtual environments (Hyper-V/VMware) and NAS/SAN systems

Manage patching workflows via SUS, WUS, and SCCM

Troubleshoot domain issues and maintain group policies

Integrate macOS devices with Active Directory

Design & Documentation:

Draft infrastructure designs, including IP planning and subnet mapping

Create clear diagrams and documentation for servers and networks

Assist with helpdesk ticket management and reporting

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have Technical Skills:

Proficient with DNS, DHCP, VLANs, subnets, and networking fundamentals

Skilled with network monitoring tools

Experience in imaging (MDT, SCCM) and firewall setup

Strong troubleshooting across systems and platforms

Certifications:

Required: CompTIA Network+

Preferred: JAMF 100, Google Admin, CCNA, NSE4 or similar

Bonus: Fortinet NSE, CompTIA Security+

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred but not mandatory

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a hands-on technical role
