Job Description

We are looking for students who help us revolutionize the way the world moves in the future! If you have interests in the areas of design engineering, sustainability, systems, hands on testing, additive manufacturing, controls, alternative fuels, cooling, signaling, embedded software, cybersecurity, engine performance, network & logistics, or other areas in digital technology, you can gain real work experience with our products in the Locomotive, Transit, Mining & Marine Propulsion systems businesses.

Our 30-week Full-time Engineering Co-op program encourages college students to explore their professional interests while working on real business projects. Our program goal is to bring your academic topics to life, give you an opportunity to see what job opportunities are possible and prepare each student for a potential full-time position after graduation in one of our challenging leadership programs or direct hire roles. Our full-time co-op program begins in January and continues through the summer session ending in late July/early August.

In addition to your role, you will have opportunities for professional, training and social activities throughout the experience that provide a valuable network with your Intern peers all the way up to Senior leaders.

Requirements – We are looking for YOU if you have:

  • Completed at least two years of college (Rising Junior)
  • Are enrolled in an accredited engineering degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science
  • If you have and maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale after completing full year of college
  • Open to applicants legally authorized to work in the U.S., without the need for current or future work status authorization or visa sponsorship for employment

 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  

  • Strong initiative with the ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership roles.
  • Strong desire to learn and develop technically in engineering roles to supplement classroom learning.
  • Ability to communicate technical aptitude, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work for a minimum of 30 weeks.

Locations:

Co-ops have the opportunity to work at our Erie, PA or Grove City, PA sites based on business needs.

Our hourly rates for co-ops range from $19 to $30/hr. The actual hourly rate is based on a matrix determined by your year in school/graduation year and your major.
